We have enjoyed Byrds Hot Chicken in Novi twice now - the first time for my son's birthday in February and today, just because! The food is consistent, hearty and delicious. I especially love the crunchy coating on the chicken. Yum! Although the menu is very simple, it works like a charm with several customizable options and it really seems to hit the spot. I find that the set up of this cafe-style restaurant is chic and perfect for a city like Novi. The choice of colors, textures, furniture and the overall ambiance are very tastefully coordinated. The owners, though, are really what stand out. They make an effort to provide excellent customer service, are very friendly and take time with each customer to make sure that their order is well placed and explained. I was very pleased to see that the restaurant was being well patronized when I stopped by to pick up my take out order this evening. Byrds Hot Chicken is a must try!

Order at the counter. Only one low table top, all the rest are higher tops. We ordered two tender combos: 1 medium with crispy green beans (extra $3 upcharge) and potato salad, 1 supahot with fries and potato salad. $34.95 They only have some generic fancy tomato ketchup, not a good sign. Their tender combo only comes with two tenders here. Their tenders are small here, heavily breaded too. They are okay. Their fried green beans are quite heavily breaded too. Don't get as much here, even with the combo as our favorite hot chicken spot in Berkley. $2 more for the chicken combo here and you only get two smaller tenders here. The potato salad is creamy, it's good.

Forgot to take a picture before we ate our food. The food was made fresh, so I waited for about 15 minutes, but it was worth it for the quality rather than fast food. Had great service from the owner Shri, working the register. He explained all the options to me and was definitely personable rather than trying to get me in and out. He left me keep my coupon for the next time we come in and offered me two free fountain drinks while I waited. We got two number 2, which came with two tenders bread and two sides. We got one plain, one mild, and 2 medium. Shri also told us you can double down on fries, so we did for one and kept the potato salad and fries for the second order. The chicken was really fresh, juicy, crispy and the spice was great for medium! The potato salad was delicious, made with redskins! The fries were smaller crinkle fries but were flavorful and had a touch of spice. The 24k sauce was a great condiment for the chicken and fries! The restaurant was really clean, organized and had a good amount of seating for dine in! Will definitely go back again!

We ordered two combos: one was the plant based sandwich with fries and green beans ($2.99 up charge) and the other was a chicken sandwich with potato salad and fries. You can also double up on the same side. If you order a shake with your combo, it's $4.99 vs $6.99 a la cart. We waited about 20 minutes for our order, they were pretty busy. The restaurant is clean and open. The service was great - the owner is very nice and checked on us mid-meal. Everything was good but the shake and green beans were the star. They also have a rewards program! We will be back!

Stopped in for carryout on lunch from my job site. Was told 8-10 minutes at checkout. After 27 minutes, had to request a refund and leave, without having lunch, so that I could get back to work. Better communication and training are needed at the front counter if meals take 25-30 minutes to come up. I would not have paid and waited that long if the wait was communicated to me beforehand. I wish I could rate the food. Instead, I am putting this rating as a caution to anyone with limited lunch time that this is not a fast carryout.
The food here was spectacular and the service was even better. The man who I believe was the owner was kind, answered all my questions, and had great suggestions for spice level etc. Worth every penny!

Was driving by and saw this place was open and decided to go in to try it. BEST DECISION EVER! Food is amazing and the staff here is super friendly. Don’t even get me started on their food. It is made to order. Food came out HOT and ready and tasted amazing. They have several different levels of heat you can choose from for your chicken to be tossed in. I had the “supahot” and it tasted great and had a nice kick to it as well. If you are looking for a chicken place with a good atmosphere and friendly staff, definitely stop in here. You won’t be disappointed!

Heard this spot was opening soon but didn't see that they had already opened until I saw it in the Door Dash app. We skipped delivery as I wanted to check it out in person so I stopped up last night to pick up some carryout for the family.We ordered a couple Chicken Sandwhich combos (hot), with tenders (mild) and nuggets for one of the kids. Mac, fries, potato salad, and crispy green beans for sides. Everything was EXCELLENT. It was all cooked to order so it did take abput 10 minutes, which wasnt at all a problem. Arguably the best spicy chicken sandwich within a 20 mile radius and one of the best I've had in a long while. And that Byrd Bomb was sooooooooooo good too!We had strawberry cake shakes and chocolate cake shakes as well, which were absolutle fantastic. Thick but not too thick and the Strawberry shake had chunks of strawberries in it.While I was waiting, the guy that took my order came our from behind the counter and we had a nice chat. Turns out he was one of the owners, Sri, and it was great to see a small business owner rolling up their sleeves and working alongside their team. He offered me a soft drink on the house while I waited, and asked me to take home some of the extra sauces to try as well, and ended up giving us an extra side on the house as well. When our food was up, Sri introduced me to his business partner Syed, who helped me carry my food out and was about to help me carry it all out to the car had I not respectfully informed him even though it was a lot to carry, I appreciated the help but could handle it from there. Both owners were incredibly humble and thankful for our business.I'd let the food talk for itself, but great customer service goes a long way. We will absolutle be back time and time again.Really cool atmosphere for a fast-casual restaurant also.Can't recommend this place enough. Give them a try!
