I had udon black bean noodles with beef. The spicy sauce was very good, the beef scarce and hard like boiled shoe leather. My friend ordered another type of noodles with chicken which she let me try. The flavor was ok but the chicken was as hard as the beef. I wouldn't go again. Sorry, Shiro.
Our server was very friendly and guided us about what to order based on our preferences. They have a good collection of sakés. We also ordered a few fancy rolls and they did not disappoint. Everything on the menu tasted pretty authentic.
The atmosphere was cute but definitely not "fine dining". The restaurant itself is incredibly small and imo very divided. The bathrooms reminded me of the restrooms in my elementary school, 3 women in the bathroom and literally on top of each other. Our waitress was excellent and checked on us often though it seemed their goal was to flip tables and as fast as possible. The food wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't good. If I'm paying $50+ per person...
