I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing.

I ordered a veggie sandwich, chicken quesadillas, and a smoothie. When I got home, my veggie sandwich was missing. I called the restaurant and was told I could come back to get it. My husband made a special trip the next day. I asked (politely) if a yogurt could be included for the inconvenience, which was declined—fine, I understood.

However, when I went to eat the sandwich later, it turned out to be chicken, not veggie. After two trips back to the restaurant, the order was still incorrect.

When I called to speak with the manager, the interaction was very upsetting. She was rude, repeatedly cut me off, blamed us for “not being clear,” and was aggressive throughout the conversation. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no attempt to make things right.

Between the missing item, incorrect orders, gas, and time spent, I lost $ and left feeling frustrated and disrespected. Mistakes happen—but how they’re handled matters. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and customer care ensured I won’t be returning, especially given attitude of the manager.

False Advertising Alert 🚫

There’s a promotional sign in the window at this Tropical Smoothie location advertising a $0.99 smoothie deal. I followed all the instructions—downloaded the app, favorited a Michigan location, and even waited over a week—but due to app glitches, I was unable to redeem the offer.

When I spoke with Macy, the General Manager and highest-ranking employee on site, she told me this was the fourth time today she’s had to explain the same issue. Despite meeting all the promo requirements, she said there was nothing they could do to honor it. I asked to speak with her superior, but she claimed she wasn’t allowed to provide that information and said, “I just work here.”

I then requested a discount on my order as a goodwill gesture, but Macy said employees are not given any ability to apply discounts. I was directed to a broken “Contact Us” link in the app, which I was told could take anywhere from 24 hours to several weeks to fix. Meanwhile, I’m standing here ready to use the promo.

I also suggested the sign be removed since it’s misleading and clearly tied to a known, unresolved issue. Macy refused, citing corporate orders.

I’m extremely disappointed with both Macy’s handling of the situation and Tropical Smoothie’s lack of accountability. I won’t be returning to this or any other location.

Waited over 15 minutes because it was busier than usual as some athletes decided this was their lunch spot. So once I got the sandwich complimenting my açaí berry smoothie, I bolted out of there to get back to work, now late.
Finally biting into the turkey bacon ranch sandwich BOY WAS I BUMMED, NO BACON!!! Are you kidding me, it’s in the sandwich title for crying out loud. So I call the store to let them know and all I get is “ok man, sorry about that, have a great rest of your day”!

Not asking for much, just employees that can read. I don’t like to spend money just to throw food in the trash. I am a super picky eater and I believe that if you’re in the restaurant/fast food industry, you should know how to follow simple instruction or you should consider a different career path.

Always horrible service, they always messing up orders if you pick up or order in, every time I order door dash they forget my STRAW FOR MY SMOOTHIE!!!! They forget plastic wear, napkins, even food that you order through delivery services. Worst Tropical smoothie service of all time

The manger Macy screamed at me today in the middle of the lunch rush . She has extreme anger issues . She’s slamming the smoothies and is very angry. Probably not a good match for a manger. Very unprofessional.

I purchased 2 Island Green detox smoothies a few days ago and the worker gave me small cups with the overflows. I paid $10 today for one and noticed too late that the blender was still 1/4 full and worker washed it out. It occurred to me that it’s not ‘extra’, it’s 1/4 of the fruit, vegetables and protein powder that I paid for. If they add too much water and ice it will overflow and should be given to customer if they want it.
Also if you pay by cc, expect to either pay the default tip of spend time figuring out how to scroll down, using the arrow on the keypad, to a different option. Otherwise the workers are friendly and the smoothies are good.

the smoothies here are always made terribly no flavor always watered down, the staff is very lazy i ordered a turkey cheddar wrap and the guy barely even cooked it. there’s always something wrong w my food here

We have been to tropical on many occasions and have never had a bad experience. Sadly, today is a different story. Food and smoothies were made fine. It's what was found at the bottom of the smoothie is what is the issue. Inside a peanut butter cup smoothie was found a plastic piece of some sort and unsure what it belongs to. There was a piece small enough that it could be tucked through the straw which could've been a choking hazard. I understand it's a one off situation but this should've never happened. Please check equipment frequently.
