Just left Oak Parker for lunch. This is the second time we have eaten there. Both times I so appreciated the friendly and enthusiastic waitress. This makes all the difference to me at a restaurant. The food was great; I had the smash burger and my husband had the patty melt, we shared fries. Yummy. The atmosphere is laid back, love that. The Tigers were on the TV and it was just chill. We will be back and recommend others to go if you like a relaxed atmosphere and great service and food.

cool restaurant and bar with a great atmosphere and basement lounge…
as a German, i had one of the best Schnitzel there. Crisp, rich flavor, tender meat… as it should be… i tries many places in the US before and this is the first Schnitzel place i can definitely recommend.
waiter and service personnel was friendly, helpful and aware.
awesome cocktails are served, too.

2nd time being here, the first time was really good but this last time was totally different. Not sure if they are letting things slip or not caring in the kitchen. The pork schnitzel was a disappointment the 2nd time being here. It wasnt trimmed properly and had a ton of gristle on it that I had to spit it out a few times. I asked for the mushroom sauce which wasnt really a sauce, when it came out initially there was just this wet spot in the middle of the chop with a few little skimpy pieces of mushrooms sitting there in a damp chop. I asked the waitress if I could have more sauce since there wasnt hardly anything there. She came with with this bowl and i could tell the sauce was still not right, it was WATERY and had no body or even much taste to it at all. It wasnt reduced down and thickened up like it was the first time I was here. I put some on my pork but it still didnt help much. Even the warm potato salad was overcooked, the potatoes were too mushy, feels like they were overcooked this time around. I think part of the problem was, when we left to go home, the kitchen was too busy watching football instead of actually cooking food or making a sauce correctly. I didnt say anything before leaving but maybe I should have. I hope the restaurant manager can keep the cooks in line, since bad quality food will make people not want to come back.
Follow up - spoke with someone from the restaurant and let me know they will be speaking to the staff about this. I will wait a while before coming back to try again since I want to make sure things are straightened out. I post on multiple sites since I think it's important for people to know the truth about things. Good, bad or indifferent. I'm glad that I heard something back in regards to this since most restaurants don't care it seems when you review something in not a positive light. I'm leaving the star rating as is until my next visit, whenever that might be and hoping that this is a fluke.

Edited to add: just tried their brunch for the first time, everything was incredible! Staff was accommodating, I was able to sub sausage for avocado. My meal didn’t even need salt or pepper, it was all perfect. No wait at noon on a Sunday. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Food was fresh and delicious, we loved the veggie burgers and fries. The restaurant itself has a big front patio & the bar looks cool with purple lights, everything is decorated really well and is clean. We came on a Thursday night around 730 and there was a 20 min wait so keep that in mind, but we’ll definitely come back soon!
Vegetarian options: There are options, and staff is accommodating for substitutions or modifications

Hidden Jem! Great layout for small place! Bar has a U wrap around. Has a corner booth and a lot of tables with a large outside eating area and sunroom inner area. Music is relaxing for just about any group. I've Ordered veal schnitzel with a side of spicy green beans, chicken schnitzel in cream sauce, meatloaf, and patty melt. All of them were amazing and different! There pickles have a nice kick to them, like jalapeno of red pepper, very good. I've paid way more for worse food and service. Different times of day you will find different bartenders, all of them have been amazing. But Noah really stands out but very efficient!
