Excellent sushi.Presentation was eye catching and appealing.Service was fantastic.Received a complimentary appetizer as first timers.Looking forward to returning for my birthday weekend!!
Not as good as the East Lansing location. Service was slow, took about 10 minutes to order drinks and 10 more minutes to receive those drinks. Rolls took some time to come out, but that's fine. However, when they did come out after about 30 minutes of waiting they were smaller than any we had previously (we order the same rolls every time), and they were rolled so poorly that about 50% of the pieces fell apart when you picked them up. I'm not sure if all locations are like this now but if you want maru go to the east Lansing location, I've had better luck there.
my family and i adore Maru; it's one of our favorite sushi places in the area. none of us have had bad experiences with staff and they've always been fairly efficient when making our orders. delicious sushi, enjoyable in store atmosphere, just fantastic overall!
Far from authentic and quite overpriced. I'd say they are likely the most expensive Sushi place in the area and the quality/sizes don't reflect that. There are definitely competitors in the area with the same or higher quality at lower prices.
Not the biggest menu, but always delivers on flavor! Great cocktails, service... And outdoor seating.
The food was fantastic, as always! From the Gyoza starter to the multitude of sushi rolls, we are never disappointed. Even the house green tea with toasted brown rice is amazing. Highly recommend.
We have had many good experiences here at this establishment but this last experience was rough. I ordered online and had a long expected wait which was fine 75-80min window sounds fine order was to be done at 7:31. I drove to the restaurant and walked in at 7:30 and was told it wasn't ready and they would bring it right out. 20 minutes later nothing had been brought out so I walked back in to see if it was ready or how much longer it would be. Another 5 minutes and it was now ready. I went out to my truck and felt the containers half the food was much cooler than the rest instead of going back I decided screw it its already been a half hour extra that my family has had to wait for dinner we will just heat it up if necessary. When I got home I then realized that my order was shorted one of the kids most requested item. Then sat down to finally try and enjoy my partners birthday dinner and the chicken entrées we ordered were over cooked and dry. Nearly a $90 order that was of poor quality and poorly serviced. I don't know if we will return we haven't sat down to eat anywhere since covid but have ordered in atleast once a week and in the last year this has been the worst experience from any restaurant. I hope Maru gets back to the quality they used to be at.

Good quality seafood and exceptional staff. Even during COVID conditions we have been getting above and beyond excellent customer service whether we carry out or dine in.
The food is good. The people that are the are pretty slow. Waiting for my order and my check shouldn’t be the longest part of the meal. 45 mins for two rolls is a little crazy

Placed a $60 order for pick up on Maru’s website today. When I got there I called the number posted for curbside service. I was forwarded to voicemail multiple times and did not get an answer knocking on the door. After waiting 40 minutes I decided to leave. Only now did I find out that maru was closed today because I came to the Facebook page. Nothing on the website stating they were closed, got a confirmation email for my order. Nothing posted on the door. Business hours posted on Google say they are open, there’s a pending charge for the total on the card I used, but I can’t get any answer.
They are doing pandemic pickup very well. Order still had good presentation, tasty as always, and the containers were reusable/recyclable.
