Red Haven Farm to Table Restaurant

Excellent curated dinner, great atmosphere and amazing food. Highs recorded.

This restaurant has been on my bucket list for some time and I finally can check it off! We had a great date night on a Wednesday when they were offering a specialty 4-course mushroom dinner. The atmosphere, service, AND food were top-notch. The dishes were one of a kind, used stellar ingredients, and were presented beautifully. It was a unique yet delicious experience.

My spouse and I have been here three times now and the dishes NEVER disappoint (seriously, they're awesome)! The themed dinners are so fun and we love their effort of locally sourcing their ingredients when possible. If you're a foodie, looking for a fun date night or way to celebrate a special occasion, this is the place to go. We know we will be coming back!

Prior to my Mr. Ponceworth J. Fancybritches opinion, let me tell you a little bit about what qualifies me as Lansing’s Premier Number 1, Food Palette Guide For Mother's Fanciest Little Lad's:

I’ve eaten at unlimited dungeons, drive-ins, Dragon's, Denny's, dives and Deez Nuts locally and throughout the country. I’ve also eaten at Wendy's (**) in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Kentucky Fried Chicken (***) in Barcelona, Spain, and most recently, guessed Taco Bell (*) in San Antonio, TX earning its 1st, and San Antonio’s ONLY Michelin Star.
So if there’s one thing this little Prim and Proper little Mother's Prince knows - it’s good food…

So if there’s one thing I know - it’s good food…

Now I’ll get to it!
We ate at Red Haven for their ‘Valentine’s Day Tasting Menu’. I’d eaten here before so I knew it was adequate for the occasion. It was a compact menu with wine pairings (honestly I wasn’t feeling any of the pairings, def probably could have done without, but I’ll stick to talking food).
Notably, in the past, I’ve never had a beet dish that was satisfying, but the Beet-Citrus Salad
[beet, blood orange, walnut, feta, micros] was just that! Something about how the beet flavor mixed with the feta and citrus from the blood orange just worked for me. Additionally, the Baked Camebert en Croute
[camebert, pastry, raspberry, pistachio, brioche], and Braised Short Rib [short rib, truffle, brussels, red wine] did not disappoint. However, undoubtedly, the star of the show was the Seared Scallop [scallop, caviar, cream, pasta, fennel]. This plate was absolutely Michelin caliber!!

After this experience, I can confidently say that Red Haven has quickly solidified itself as one of the top 3 fine dining restaurants in the Lansing area (and I don’t know what the other two are).

The food and service is beyond compare. What a lovely dining experience!

Our favorite place! Before they moved to events only, we would frequent. Also hosted my baby shower there and Nina was great to work with.
Now we try to go to as many dinners as we can. Love Matt M as a server and the delicious and local meals!

Such a unique experience for the Lansing area! The customer service is top-notch and the food is delicious. We were there for the Pixar night last week and really loved it.

Red Haven, as I understand, transitioned from a standard restaurant, to a reservation-only, fixed-prix dining experience. Same outstanding quality, and the service is even better now that it's so focused.

Fanciest food in Lansing, and consistently delicious. They've moved to dinner pre-sales for special theme dinners and I'm enjoying the heck out of it.
