Love this place and the wine is amazing
This is my fav place for wine...I drove 12 hours to come taste new wine
It was an eye opening taste bud awakening flavor experience From a local place. Customer service is outstanding!! The knowledge of the product was nothing short of amazing.
THE Michigan winery...period.
Been to tastings at 10+ Michigan wineries and St. Julian's in Paw Paw is BY FAR the best: stunning tasting room; great selection of wines and spirits; amazing, knowledgeable staff; incredible prices...just can't say enough. If you're going to Michigan wine country, DO NOT miss this place. Join a Wine Club matching your taste preference for quarterly Michigan wine without leaving home!
St. Julian has been busy ever time I’ve visited, and I take it that their wine club is quite popular. They have a substantial menu of drinks, and the quality is good. I will say that the wines tend to be on the sweeter side, but they have some options on the drier end of the spectrum. The dessert options are quite decadent, and I like the cafe latte wine cocktail. The staff is always busy since there seems to be so many customers per bartender, but they manage to make things work. It’s worth a stop if you’re nearby.
Nice spot, super friendly and helpful employees, just be prepared to park in a bit of a war zone. Road construction has left the entrance/parking area a bit of a potholed mess.
Once inside, though, you will find some great wines being served up by friendly and knowledgeable employees. Great selection and variety, comfortable tasting area, prices about normal for the area. If you're a wine fan, ignore the construction and take a look / have a taste! It will be worth your time.
Bartender was great! Amazing tastes!
We went on a south west Michigan vacation last week and purposely went to st jullian in paw paw. An already great trip was enhanced by the atmosphere and fantastic service provided by Gabe. Thank you for all your kindness and knowledge!
I never see reviews about pricing. I heard this winery is one of the better priced with a board of 12 being $12 a party of 2 is $24. it's a ton of fun being able to try so many at once and everything tasted high quality. They do have spirit options which is really nice as well as dessert flavored alcohol such as the caffe latte which was a favorite.
I’ve been in many times over the years. I recently stopped in with my MIL, SIL & toddler daughter for a festive beverage. We had a really nice time! However, I do have one suggestion… high chairs. When we asked our server if they had a highchair she almost acted as if that was the first time someone has asked for one and just for reference we were not the only ones there with a small child in tow. I understand that it is primarily an adult establishment but there will be times when children come in. Having a few high chairs available will make everyone’s experience more enjoyable. ;-) Regardless, we will be back as we live locally and enjoy what St. Julian’s has to offer!

Waited for about 10 minutes for someone to ring me up. Everyone was more interested in drinking and talking so I finally just walked out. I guess I'll be canceling my wine club membership and shopping elsewhere. Nope
Brandy is a wonderful wine tasting server! Thank you for a great experience.
I’ve gotten spoiled on st Julian wine!! It’s got such a wonderful flavor, one that’s all its own! I live in another state and instead of going somewhere local for my wine cabinet, I always order a case from here! Michigan wine is definitely my favorite!! With the last case I tried several different ones and was so happy with this little gem I found, “Ghost Apple”!! Delicious!! ?
They'll actually let you taste offerings they don't even have in stock but won't tell you in advance so you waste your tasting looking for something not on the shelf. Dumb as hell. Didn't offer another taste to make up for it. I chose one spirit and wasted it. Completely stupid. Won't be back. Was about to buy multiple bottles for corporate gifts. They thought it was funny. Wonder how funny the owners think it is.
I live out of state and come to Matawan to visit relatives. I loved St Julian's Black and Blue hard cider. I was vey disappointed to find they no longer sell it (or any other of their products) in a can. The only way you can get it is in a growler or glass bottle from their tap in the store. This means it will go flat in about a week. No more bringing it back to CT, no bringing it in a cooler out on the boat, on picnics, to friends' houses or anywhere else. Apparently they "got rid of" all their canning equipment. I guess they aren't too committed to the cider products. Too bad. They got me hooked on Black and Blue and now I'll have to look elsewhere for an apple/blueberry/blackberry hard cider.
