What a special place and experience! Service was on point, even on a busy Saturday night! Great food and drink options and the view is stellar!

Had two steaks that were excellent. Had a baked potato that was cold when it arrived. All of the food was very late because of kitchen problems. I have been there before and it has always been excellent. I think the kitchen problems are temporary, so this should not be viewed as a permanent thing there.

It was our anniversary and I did request a table on the porch when I made the reservation. I would have been happy if we could at least have seen the lake, but were seated close to the front door near the bar. I'm very disappointed about that. The food and service were very good.

We absolutely love DLB and have been here many times. The food is absolutely delicious and we have never had anything we didn't love. The vibe was great. We came on Sunday for the live music that we love. It was so good!! The service could've been better. We sat at the bar. It took a while to get greeted. The bar wasn't wiped down. After a few minutes I waved someone down to ask for them to wipe the bar. Then minutes later I had to wave someone down again to ask for menus. It was slow getting started and was odd service when we haven't experienced that before. Other than that, it was great!

Food and drinks, as always, were delicious. Only problem we had was that we had reservations and walk-ins were getting seated before us. The problem was resolved by management and they went above and beyond to apologize to us. I definitely recommend the steaks, they melt in you mouth.

A.T. was our server. She made the evening very enjoyable. Her personality was professional, light hearted with a great sense of humor. Not intrusive at all although attentive to the tables needs. Had lemon blueberry martinis, mussels, grouper and pork tenderloin. All good. Have been going to DLB for years and the only suggestion would be to change the menu up slightly. Other than that the ambiance is great, service is always good and the food is generally consistent.

What a delightful evening!! Our anniversary celebration could not have been better. The perfect table on the patio was provided (thank you, Finley!!), the chefs prepared an excellent meal (from lamb lollipops to peanut butter pie and everything in between), and the service from Eva, supported by Bella was absolutely fantastic! We shall return!

We’ve been loyal patrons of DLB for years, but unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly over the past two. After our last three visits being consistently poor, we’ve made the decision not to return. It’s become a pattern for them to run out of key menu items early in the evening. Tonight marked the third time they were out of ribs, and they were also out of salmon. Even more frustrating, it took nearly two hours just to receive our salads. The service was chaotic and not what is expected in a fine dining restaurant. For a place that once felt like a go-to spot, it’s been disappointing to see such a sharp decline. We genuinely hope they make some changes, but for now, we’ll be dining elsewhere

We had heard good things about this restaurant. As you can see by the ratings it’s well loved. We came at the last days of the season, getting ready for closing. Rather bland food, good size portion though. We did not have a lake view table. That’d be worth requesting. It was busy, people obviously like it, but I didn’t get it.

Food was ridiculously good! The blackened chicken pasta was creamy and very saucy! Steak was cooked perfectly. Very happy with our anniversary dinner!

Fair warning ALWAYS make a reservation because they book up!

Great food but sub par service and this review comes from a local. They know how to make a reservation but not how to hold a reservation. Once we had to wait 30+ minutes after our reservation time. I was so upset I left and swore I wouldn’t come back and I witnessed numerous upset people in the same situation I was in. After a year I decided to try again. I showed up 5 minutes before my reservation and ok they made me wait despite numerous tables open. The lady greeter about 60 with glasses said “you’re a little early.” I was (ha) so I grabbed a beer and patiently sat with my wife and had a drink next to the lake. However, when they finally came and got us it was 20 minutes after our reservation time. The food we got was excellent but it was a LONG dinner. We sat down around 6:45 pm and didn’t leave until after 8:45 pm. The delay to get food was horrible and even our dessert was a 20 min wait. The lady who greets and seats you is a little off. Of course I don’t think she gets the reservation concept but I also saw her busing tables and took the drinks that were left and slung the liquids out of the glass onto the lawn facing the lake just a couple tables away from us outside on the patio. Sorry not trying to be picky but it just seemed so tacky. We did enjoy the food but their focus on customer satisfaction is really lacking. If you have 2+ hours for a good pricey dinner this place is for you. Just don’t count on them honoring your reservation time which is unacceptable to me. I should mention we spent almost $200 including tip (wife and I) with dinner, 2 drinks/piece and 1 dessert.

DLB never disappoints. I've been eating there for 30 years. Food is always consistently great. Helps that it is only a 10 minute drive. Always the only place I take guests when they come up to visit. It deserves all of the awards it gets every year

DLB is hands down the best restaurant experience in northern Michigan! Our server Tara was fantastic. She took care of our group of 9 so well. Our food was delicious, as always. Our 4th visit this season, and what a great way to welcome Fall and wave goodbye to summer with all our family together. A beautiful evening!

We went there for our anniversary and we weren't disappointed! The food was fantastic and our waitress was adorable. We were surprised how crowded it was, but I guess everybody knows how good it is!
