I have visited many Indian restaurants throughout 10+ states in the country. When visiting Indian restaurants, I always order three cannot-miss food from any Indian restaurant: naan, chicken tikka masala, and fried food.
Naan was disappointing 2/5 - doughy, not enough butter, and no crisp at all.
Chicken tikka masala 2/5 - too herby, not enough chicken meat for the price point, and tastes slightly better than store-bought bottled curries.
Fried food 4/5 - good crisp, stays warm, and good mix of veggies and carbs.
Overall, I do not recommend eating here, especially when the price point does not justify the quality of the food. However, I expect the quality of the food and price points to change, as more competitors enter the Petoskey Indian food market in the next 5 years. I don’t expect the restaurant to address these concerns, but they will lose business soon otherwise.

***Five star rating given by Non Indians only***Such a pathetic food, one day on last Saturday they said no dine in but we went again on Sunday for having it. I never had such a bad experience and feeling leaving my ordered food just like that. It was completely taste less, even a person cooking watching YouTube video can cook better. I strongly do not recommend this to anyone. Ordered almost every dish from starter to main with variety of naans. I can’t point out single dish which was tasty. I Satisfied myself finally after drinking a sprite only. A big no to this restaurant.
We can’t wait to go back! The food was absolutely delicious. We had Butter Chicken, Goan Lamb & Garlic Naan. Portions were nice size with a fair price too. The spices were fabulous. The owner, was so nice and so glad to have the opportunity to have time to talk to him about his background, family and runs a fantastic business and we will tell our friends, visitors, travelers, and anyone who wants to enjoy true Northern Indian food.
Parking: In a strip mall….may make you have opinions.. but don’t judge the book by its cover. Kitchen makes great food

I see most of the 5star reviews are from non indians maybe never tried indian food, some one said best samosa ever haha for me its the worst samosa i ever had. Food was below average mostly frozen food reheated and served not fresh. Forget about the food the owner is very rude the entire time and we can hear he is arguing with other customers. It's basic courtesy to speak politely to customers. Sunday buffet mentioned in menu when we asked he said no and the next second he is like what do you want he didnt even gave few seconds to decide. Please avoid dont get fooled by the good reviews.

Came on a Sunday at 6:45 pm, and the staff was rude to say no to dine-in. The reason they gave seemed absolute silly that they were going to be closed for the next day and they don't want to take any more people to avoid cleaning the table. Zero hospitality!! STAY AWAY!!

I had a disappointing experience at Aamchi Mumbai Indian Cuisine in Petoskey, MI. While the food could potentially be good, it’s not worth spending your hard-earned money here, especially considering the owner’s rudeness.
We were traveling back from Mackinaw Island and stopped by with four adults and four little kids. Upon arriving, the owner immediately told us, “I don’t have a table for you!” This was quite ridiculous, especially since there were empty tables available. When I asked if they were full or booked, he responded that they were closing in an hour and had a lot of people to feed.
It would have been nice if he had communicated that with a bit more politeness. At the very least, it would have been nice if he could have offered us the option for a to-go order. It left us feeling like our group was unwelcome, and it’s hard not to wonder if there’s a bias at play here.
When we tried to express our frustration and asked him to be more polite, he snapped back that we were “testing his patience level.” It was incredibly unprofessional and left a sour taste in our mouths.
Overall, I cannot recommend Aamchi Mumbai Indian Cuisine based on this experience. There are plenty of other restaurants that prioritize customer service and treat everyone with respect.
