Great food and great selection of drinks!
The beer was great! Dog-friendly (A++++) Their burger had great flavor but was grossly overcooked. Service was slow but friendly.
The casual dining and patio were terrific. Thank you for taking care of my elote fix! The menu was creative and didn’t disappoint! Thank you, Emily, for taking good care of us! The Citranity was a perfect suggestion.
So... Unique set up... Order and pick up yourself...Prices reflect full service but don't expect chips or fries to be included. Order a burger, you get a burger, nothing more or less. Service was fine. I guess I just expect a little more for the price.
We came here a few years ago and my husband has raved about the pizza ever since, so I knew when we visited Michigan again we had to stop in here. I saw the reviews had gone downhill since our last visit but chose not to read them because we *knew* this place was good. We arrived this time to find how much things have changed. It was not too busy so we didn’t mind the new process of ordering at the bar, but two of the three drinks we were hoping to try, they were out of, and they no longer serve the pizza he raved about. We had the chicken strips, the quesadilla and fries. The food was not bad, but pricier than I would think for what you get. It was nice to reminisce about our last visit and how things inside look the same, and the staff were friendly, I just don’t think we will return in the future.
Staff was very friendly. Different system. You can only order at the bar. Food does not come with a side. Not even chips. I had the Caprese wrap with chicken. $17!! Had no flavor. Lunch for two was almost $70. A bit disappointed. Drinks were good.
Edited in response to owner: your response makes mine and everyone else’s point. Focus on making it so you get less bad reviews in the first place, dude.
Food came out cold, very dry. The current system of ordering through the bar does not work, particularly when it is busy. Nobody could hear their name being called, resulting in them parading around your food until they find you. It seemed like most if not all people were not receiving text notifications, including us.
Reading other reviews, it seems that ownership does not stand behind their product. If people bash the food, the owner absolves themselves by saying they’re “just a brewery, dude”. The food menu is the same size as the drink menu, and more than 50% of the patrons were eating food and not drinking beer. I guess it’s on the patrons to go somewhere else if they want good food, which is frustrating given what a great location they have. Beards used to be known for their food, their pizza in particular. They don’t even serve pizza now which says a lot.
I’ve had beer from Beards a couple times, it’s pretty standard homebrew/microbrew. I wouldn’t come here if I was looking for good beer, dude. Cheers!
horrible food. everything was over priced. 1 drink and an app cost $30. they wanted a tip but it was seat yourself, order at bar, and get your food when your name is called. a tip was not deserved.
Great food and views. We enjoyed our beers, too. Even though they were busy, the service was good.
Very good parm fries. Excellent waiter...Grant!
The parmesan fries were full of flavor! Honestly worth every bite.

Great visit this last weekend. The crew working was extremely accommodating, very helpful, and kept tabs on us to make sure we were taken care. Great beer and good food! Perfect brewery experience with an awesome view.
Good beer, great views. Food quality is not good, but it is a brewery. Fried / frozen everything and low-grade. McDonald’s food is better, but the view was great. If they let you bring McDonalds into the restaurant this place would be great. And I don’t even eat McDonalds.
The Reuben was pretty tasty, but the beers here fell short which was kinda disappointing. I ordered the Marzen Marzen and it was alright. Also thought the lager tasted kinda yeasty.
Atmosphere and the view are amazing. Staff was really friendly too.
I had to stay in Petoskey for several months for work and I tried as many eateries as I could in my time. Beards was one of my favorites and I ate there several times. Their food is delicious, filling, modern, but they don’t over do the recipe so there is something familiar about their unique take on the dishes. The Lobster Roll and Mac and Cheese go great together and are hard to beat. The interior feels cozy, and the giant windows overlooking the bay are great. If you stop in you should find the elevator and head down to the downstairs bar, it is a completely different feel and is a great place to relax and maybe play some video games. Also they have special events, the one I attended as the MexiGander and it was worth the money and experience.
