Been living in Northern Michigan for over 10 years and never knew about Crooked Tree Breadworks until now. This artisan bakery has amazing breads and pastries. The Epi Baguette is fantastic, as is the classic sourdough bread. Tried the orange currant scone and it was delicious. The holiday stollen was reduced to six dollars. There were boxes leftover from Christmas so I bought one. Honestly, the stollen was too old and stale to have been sold to customers. Even though I warmed and toasted the stollen, it was still tasteless. So glad I came here twice because they do have outstanding artisan baked goods but prices are somewhat steep which is expected in an affluent place like Petoskey.

While visiting the area, we stopped in to pickup some baguettes. To our lovely surprise, they offered a couple of cheese spreads (which were delicious) and a small block of cheese to take home. We hit the jackpot, and can't wait to visit again soon!

First take away is the delicious aroma of savory doughs. The young lady waited patiently while we chatted, discussed, and drooled. We were able to make our decisions and were promptly taken care of. We walked out with a few cookies, which we all agreed were delicious, an orange-currant scone that made my mouth water just by smell, and a loaf of olive-rosemary sourdough which makes an incredible sandwich base. I highly recommend it with sun dried tomatoes and avocado. We may have to make the 3 hour drive for the bread alone.

Parking: Shares parking lot with neighboring businesses, and while we were there early, there was plenty of parking.
