I really want to love this place, but unfortunately I don’t. It feels overpriced and mediocre, with a menu that’s trying to do too much — and the food quality reflects that. That said, the atmosphere is great.
The French dip sandwich was middle of the pack, with a large upcharge for mushrooms and onions that were offered by the waitress without mentioning the extra cost. The fish was okay, but the sides were disappointing — don’t get the veggies here. They gave a very minimal portion of mashed potatoes.
The burger and fries were very solid, although it was surprising that the fries were an upcharge as well. Appetizers are overpriced, and the French onion soup tasted mid.
Despite my disappointment with the pricing and food quality, there are good things about this place. The atmosphere is excellent. I think they’re simply trying to do too much, and it’s hurting the food. My advice: come here for a burger and a pint — keep it simple.
Americans do not like surprise upcharges or skimpy portions, especially when it comes to potatoes.
This is my honest review. I hope they stick around and eventually fulfill this place’s potential.

My friends and I came here last year after our Santa Sunday ski trip at Boyne and it was very good. Well we decided to do the same thing this year and I was very disappointed. I ordered a patty melt burger and asked for it with bacon and a regular bun, well they come out with a mushroom burger without onions, I told them this wasn't what I ordered. After sending it back they came right back out a minute later with the exact same burger with bacon on it and still no onions but still covered with mushrooms. I'm sorry but If you can't get my order right twice in the same meal I wont be coming back.

Great local spot. Dive-y atmosphere. Friendly, efficient service at the bar, excellent food. I had the pub burger, wife had the salmon. Onion rings solid. Decent beer list. Enjoyed it.
I had a horrible dining experience tonight. First, the place was freezing — uncomfortably cold for anyone trying to enjoy a meal. Then came the food: first bite and I found a huge hairball/knot in my dish. Completely disgusting and unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the server was nowhere to be found. No check-ins, no drink refills, no apology, nothing. For a slow Sunday night, you’d expect at least decent service. Instead, it felt like we were invisible.
What really blew me away was that nothing was comped — no free drink, no discount, not even a gesture to make up for the health violation and poor service. It’s upsetting to spend my hard-earned money on a gross meal and a miserable experience.
Won’t be back. Truly disappointing.

Food was fine, but our service was another story. Our server could be seen taking shots and chatting with her friends/patrons during her shift. She forgot to bring us waters, held the credit card hostage for over 30 minutes and we had to ask for it back to cash out. She then threw the card down on the table before rushing back to her friends. We were rooting for you girl but you have to own when you are slow and make mistakes 😭

Such bad service. Food was good for the price and it’s a fun dive bar atmosphere. But we finished our food at 10pm and couldn’t leave until after 11pm because the server was too busy with her friends. I asked for my card back and it seemed like she had lost it. When she did find it, she threw it on the table with no apology for the long wait or explanation.

We visited twice. We met a number of people while sitting at the bar. Very friendly atmosphere. Owen and Cindy were exceptional. The first visit we just had drinks. The second visit we had food and drinks. The food was plentiful and tasty. There's a lot memorabilia throughout to keep your eyes busy.
