Wonderful atmosphere, service and delicious food, every time!
Sage used to be one of my family’s favorite restaurants for special occasions. Going at least once a month. The food has always been good. We know a few of the long time servers. Then, they changed the menu. My husband is allergic to seafood. I don’t eat fish or red meat. There isn’t one option for us. There used to be a vegetarian pasta and also a chicken dish. What kind of restaurant doesn’t offer a chicken option? Even the best steakhouses do. We haven’t been able to go in months. Sad, because we really did enjoy a little dinner and gambling. Maybe they will revamp the menu soon. This one has stuck far too long.

Sage Restaurant located in the Odawa Casino of Petoskey has a new menu with lobster rolls!!!!!
The seafood corn chowder was very hot and delicious. What a pretty bowl too!

Only took 25 minutes to get a side salad.2 hours later we still don't have our main course, which was prime rib. No coffee refills. Finally got tired of waiting and left.
Customers next to us. We're not happy either. Very slow service and had to wait for their check and the other two around us. Still no food..
I said go anywhere else but here.. Southwoods... Side door saloon Burger King or just eat cereal at home anywhere but here

I have to be honest. I read several reviews that almost had us not wanting to take the chance of eating here. But I’m glad we did. Our server, the entrees and the atmosphere were wonderful. Don’t always believe what you hear.

Arrived at the restaurant, the ambience of the room was spectacular. We could not arrive at entrées to order. So, my husband and I decided to try for small plates, shrimp cocktail with fresh horseradish, the mushroom gnocchi, unbelievable. The calamari with/Asian sauce, pork belly with a coleslaw complement. Every single dish was literally done, Perfect. Could not have enjoyed more. Enjoyed the service, enjoyed the food experience, thank you Sage restaurant . Odawa casino Petoskey, Michigan.

On 4/18 had reservations for 4. Girlfriend ordered Ceaser salad, way too much anchovy (fishy). Could not eat it. Lettuce cups , the meat was dry, ( like moist beef jerky). My med /raw 16oz prime rib was luke warm and med/well. Finally asked the server for a dessert menu, none! She verbally told us what they had, father-in-law ordered some sherbet, quantity was smaller than a golf. I ordered blackberry cheesecake, everybody tasted it and said it was Soured! Server said it was made of goat cheese. Who makes creamy cheesecake with goat cheese. I would have never ordered it if the server told me. Or a menu describing. The server really had no care of how the food was. Check on us only a couple of times, no drink refills, and you now have to pay for bread?!?! I have gone to the Sage since it opened, food has gone downhill, poor service and higher prices. Also , the restaurant where the buffet was, the fish fry was so bad they stopped serving it b/c it was so bad!!!

Husband ordered a medium rare prime rib and it came out medium well. They said that was the best they had. Wow it was 5:00. How can a fine dining place not have medium rare?? They also forgot my add on lobster tail. What??? Not great.

A little chaos at the beginning of Dinner rush when the hostess called in, but our server, Melissa was great and the kitchen was completely on their game. Totally worth the wait.

prime rib, mashed potatoes, risotto, papardelle... everything is phenomenal
Dining at the Sage was deeply disappointing this evening. Our longtime favorite server, Debra, was abruptly sent home early, visibly upset, despite her 16-year tenure. The replacement server seemed overwhelmed, and the food quality suffered—my husband's steak was incorrectly prepared, and my salad was dry. The restaurant's atmosphere has noticeably changed, with staff appearing stressed and the overall experience far below the Sage's usual standards. New restaurant management seems to be disrupting a successful formula, potentially risking the restaurant's reputation. Debra is an exceptional server who knows our preferences and consistently provides outstanding service, and has for sixteen years! This experience suggests the new management is fixing what isn't broken and potentially alienating loyal customers and staff.

Ever since they brought in the new manager, Sage has undeniably gone downhill. The food was scarcely something to write home about and when we heard they fired Erika, this sealed our less than mediocre opinion of Sage. Room 94 has much more to offer now and has never looked so appealing. We will not be back to Sage because of the inadequacies of the staff and management.
