Great experience here the Thursday & Friday before Labor Day. Very friendly and helpful staff. In the heart of Bayview with wonderful historic homes that are beautifully maintained. If you like “new & shiny” this isn’t your place, but if you love history and historic architecture, walking tours, etc this is the place. A little over a mile walk to downtown Petoskey and lots of interesting walks within the Bayview community. Great restaurant with outstanding food! I must say...read full review

The Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant offers well-prepared food with generous portions and a $52 Prix Fixe 3 Course Menu, making it an excellent dining value. Situated on the veranda overlooking the beautiful Bay View grounds, diners can enjoy a charming experience. The ambiance is enhanced by a classical guitarist playing familiar standards.
The restaurant has a new chef and menu this year, with many more and varied choices than in recent years. The white fish and the pork tenderloin are excellent, and the Planked Whitefish is the best in the area. The porch is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal, while the dining room continues to exude old-world charm. The cocktails, especially the Forbidden Sour, are delicious and perfectly sized. Diners can also learn about the Bay View Association, the Terrace Inn, and the area's history by reading from the books in the lobby, which can enhance the overall dining experience.
The atmosphere is just lovely, like stepping back in time. The service is really good, even when the restaurant is surprisingly busy. The whitefish is amazing, with excellent presentation and delicious flavors. The crème brulee and Carmel pudding are also highly praised. Diners can enjoy the historic feel of the inn and the option to dine on the patio.
