Our second visit but first opportunity to eat on the porch; and it was perfect. The white fish and the pork tenderloin were excellent and we would order either one, again. The porch is such a beautiful setting. We will return, and would recommend this restaurant.

Ran out if the white fish and carrot cake, this was extremely unfortunate as we had reservations. We were not seated on time although we were 5 minutes early and it table was ready. We had to reproach the host to be seated. Once seated it was 20 minutes until our drink order was taken. It was at this time we were told they were out if many dishes. While what was ordered was good, disappointed sums up the experience overall.

The whitefish special was a drowned piece of fish in a sauce surrounded by mashed potatoes. Everything tasted the same. Very disappointing for price. The other dishes were of small portions and were average The inn itself was beautiful

We had a group of 8 - 4 were our young granddaughters and it was a wonderful experience in every way! The service was excellent and so was the food!

We had a wonderful time! The cocktails were delicious, especially the Forbidden Sour--not too tart. The portions were perfectly sized and everything was delicious and elegant. Since we arrived a bit early for our 6pm reservation, we had a chance to read from one of the books in the lobby about the Bay View Association, the Terrace Inn, and the area's history. It's very interesting and I think improved our meal and experience. So take some time and learn something! ;)

Annual visit for our quiet Anniversary celebration. Always wonderful memories - and new chef is remarkable!

We have had dinner here at least 5 times which 4 previous were very good. Last nights diner review: My wife's white fish was quite good my walleye was very dry & overcooked. The tomato/lentil garnish it rested on very good. We ordered the 3 course meal. & asked if we could have dessert to take home. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! The driest cake we've ever had. Again vastly baked too long. A menu price of $12 it was large but inedible. We threw it away. Service was very spotty but friendly. The restaurant was approx 40% full when we arrived. The salad course took 20 minutes (not a problem) brought by an attendant as was our main course. Not once did our waitress come by the table in over an hour to ask how our meal was Once she took the dessert order we waited approximately 30 minutes for the take out containers & check. The restaurant was now 90% full so we understand service can be a bit slow. Not sure we would will return. It could have been an anomaly but a $150 dinner out there are many other choices

1911 restaurant at the Terrace Inn is simply a lovely dining experience overall. They have a new chef and menu this year, with many more and varied choices than in recent years, but fear not - Planked Whitefish is still there and is absolutely the best we've had in the area. The porch is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal, while the dining room continues to exude old-world charm. This place is often overlooked, but should definitely be on anyone's shortlist for a wonderful culinary and cultural experience in the area.

Our three course prix fixe meal was delicious. I had the asparagus soup, planked whitefish and then the berry crisp. $55 was a very reasonable price point. Since it was our wedding anniversary they gave us each a complementary glass of champagne.

Celebrated 11th anniversary there and it was awesome! Food from new chef was delicious (whitefish, spare ribs) Service was attentive without being obtrusive The upgrade of floors/walls/tables very well done!

Good food, pleasant server who was helpful to our group with a toddler, they supplied a high chair per early request, a bit slower service due to short staff on holiday weekend

Angela is a great server! Whitefish was excellent. Belinda is always very pleasant as we enter the Terrace Inn.

Food is outstanding no matter what you order but the plank salmon is most excellent. Service is very attentive. I would highly recommend it.

Our Easter Brunch could not have been more delightful. The buffet was perfect, food was delicious...our omlettes were exceptionally good. The servers were just lovely. It's always a historical treat to eat at The Terrace Inn. Now if I only had a time machine...Thank you for making our Easter perfect!
