I have been to this restaurant many times and have always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, service was unbelievably poor last night. Words can't even begin to explain how terrible it was.
This is our favorite place to eat on Mackinac Island! The food is consistently high quality and perfectly prepared. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and are appropriately attentive.
Service was a little slow at first. we had read reviews that the food was overpriced, and it is, but the view is worth it. We both had the walleye, but I had it with the salmon sides and preparation and both were very good. The vintage salad had several pieces of lettuce that were too vintage. Good wine list!
We chose the outdoor seating with a great view of Little Traverse Bay. Everything we drank, eat and service was excellent. We'll go back again.
We had a lovely dinner.. we both had the whitefish and it was excellent.. cooked perfectly and paired with a light lemon buere blanc.. very yummy. We split the wedge salad that was Ali's great.. and a perfect portion for splitting.. Lovely evening! Thanks !
Outstanding birthday dinner for our daughter. Kent was superb on service, attentive, friendly, and engaging.
We have dined here many times during the summer , it seems that this restaurant isn't as upscale as it used to be , we were at our table outside for two hours , during that time our waiter , Nate , apologized three times , because each course was very delayed , they had an event that was slowing this up.... We said no worries ...... when he asked if we would like dessert , we said , no, we will just finish our wine .... He brought the check and told us there was another reservation for our table within 5-10 minutes.... And, we would need to leave.....we did not make a scene about it, just left ...... btw, lots of empty outdoor and indoor tables , also, walking out the indoor area , I noticed tables that had not been cleared ..... I don't know what's going on, but , we did not have the experience we were used to there...
Very disappointed with the quality of food. I ordered the salmon. It was so dry I couldn't eat it. I always said you can never overcook salmon but the chef did. They took it back and brought me another 20 minutes later. The rest of my family was already finished eating. I refused the the 2nd attempt and didn't eat on my 75th birthday celebration. While I was waiting I ordered another drink. It came after the 2nd dinner was presented. What a joke.,The manager came over and said laughingly that I wasn't going to be charged for my dinner. Of course not...I didn't eat a dinner. The waiter told us the Mgr was clueless and I should complain to the General Mgr of food and beverage. I did. Waiting for a phone call from him. We will see.
Had a great server named Matt, very tentative and knowledgeable of the menu and recommended some great items. Food was absolutely delicious. Love the watermelon salad and the tenderloin pappardelle and the wonderful walleye
Vintage served us some wonderful whitefish and a watermelon salad with shrimp at a window table overlooking a magnificent view of Little Traverse Bay. No complaints.

Our server was not the best, he was pleasant but not as professional as we would expect for this high priced establishment.
While we enjoyed ourselves, the view, the waiter, the taste of our food, the prices are getting up there.
First, our server was amazing. He truly couldn't have been more accommodating. The food, though, was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Wagyu Denver steak medium-rare. It came out and it was VERY well done. I can count on one hand how many times I've ever sent something back, but when I'm paying $100 for a steak, you can be sure I sent it back. It came back out and it was a little better (medium this time). We ordered the twice-baked potato and it must've been cooked alongside my first steak (sarcasm), because it was overcooked and as dry as the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was pretty good and the cocktails were good. Again, service was 5-star, but food was abysmal.
We are from Southwest Michigan and try to visit the Petoskey area twice a year. Our first stop for a restaurant is always the vintage. Best French onion, soup, and lamb chops in the whole world.
Dinner was delicious we all had different meals, salmon, shorts ribs and papperdelle we all ate everything on our plates. We sat outside and it was nice to take in the view of the bay and have a wonderful meal.
