They use to be great, but when I can take 3 people to Uncle Ernie's in Kalamazoo and get more food choices and pay less than 2 of us spent here for the same dishes, that is crazy.

Love that the menu has a variety of great food. Had difficulty choosing, because there were so many tasty options. They had healthy items available too, which is not always common for a diner tucked back in a rural-ish area. Really enjoyed it. Can't wait to go back!

Breakfast Done The Right Way - Everything was made just right, and the place has a friendly, family atmosphere. UPDATE: after making PLD a regular lunch stop for the past several years, I recently brought an old friend in for an olive burger and fries. The place was empty at noon and the waitress had been sent home. We tipped the owner $7 for our two burgers and I about had a heart attack when he rang us up and the tab for two burgers, two fries and one Coke came to $32. The burgers were not big, and I buy premium ground beef all the time, so I know what food costs. With no waitress to pay and no specials available that day, ordering the burgers seemed like it would’ve been a more affordable option. $10 for just those little patties was excessive. At least throw in some chips, a pickle, or offer a “basket” option upgrade. Everything was à la carte.I’m deducting a star from my original review as the pricing is not commensurate with reasonable market value in the area.

Flippant waitress, gross food. If you go for breakfast, only order à la carte, and check the dates on everything. We went in Oct 2022, the best buy date on their jelly was Aug 2021.We ordered both corn beef breakfast dishes and got what looked like plates of vomit. I had unknowingly ordered canned meat, but I coated it in spices and forced it down and spent the next few hours trying to wash out the taste. Our other plate was supposed to be fresh corned beef and wasn't. The waitress, who never checked on tables and always had to be flagged down, said "sorry" with a shrug and walked away, and when we asked for it to be remade, the entire restaurant could hear the cook's sarcastic yelling. We ended up with a roll of corned beef thrown in a box, not even hash ? also a cup of chocolate milk is $6. Won't go back, don't recommend.
