Very good food. The biscuits and gravy are on point.
First time here. I came here for The Crabber and I got crabs 🦀…..crab cakes that is. This unique, offbeat version of the Benny is phenomenal, exceptional, whatever adjective you prefer to describe this greatness. My poached eggs could have been a little more poached. I am all about that yolk, but prefer not to have runny whites. Thank you Sara for the awesome service. My new go-to when dog sitting. Highly recommend!
Very very good food. Came here the morning after my bachelor party and had the aptly named “Hangover” breakfast. Delicious. Drinks were great as well if you’re looking for a little of or the dog. 10/10 would definitely come back.
Unique place and food.
Big portions.
Friendly. Clean. Enjoyable. I've eaten on the patio and inside.
FOOD IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE.
It gets 3 stars because the food was amazing such a classic diner experience BUT there is no way in Hell that basic diner food for 3 people should cost $75 before tip. 3 meals & 3 coffees cost $75. never through id have to lay down a $100 bill at a gosh darn diner for 3 people.
Great. 💕

Probably my favorite brunch spot in town. There’s almost always a bit of a wait after 10 on the weekend, but it goes quickly. The staff is nice and all the food is delicious. The menu is large and will have something everyone likes.

Came here for a breakfast date with my mom for her birthday, she had the Pleasant Ridge and I had the sweet savory with chocolate chip pancakes and coffee. I hadn't been here for awhile and that stops today. Food was phenomenal, service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Will be back soon.

One of my all time favorite breakfast joints. Two of my favorite dishes are their veggie skillet and the sunny sunrise. Food is incredible. The only thing that is keeping me from coming here weekly is the prices. As of my last visit, for the veggie skillet and a cup of coffee it was $22 and change (before tip) which I'd say it on the higher end of what I've seen around Ferndale for breakfast. Either way, I'd definitely recommend Whistle Stop to anyone who has never been.

We paid $38 for two breakfast skillets. For that price, I was expecting something exceptional. I ordered a make your own skillet with onions, cheese, peppers & turkey sausage. What I got was unseasoned eggs on top of unseasoned potatoes & the cheese I ordered was not present. I also ordered an english muffin, asked twice for butter, but it was not delivered. Luckily we brought the food home where I had butter. My beau ordered the Tex Mex skillet, which he enjoyed, thus the 2 stars. He asked for strawberry jam & the cashier stated it was a homemade blend. It wasn't blended at all-just a smashed strawberry that could not spread over the toast. I was highly disappointed. My homemade breakfast runs circles around this place. I guess this is the punishment I got for being too lazy to cook.
