Kathy and Allan are wonderful hosts. Kathy makes the best margarita ever. The pepperoni pizza was outstanding. Kathy and Allan are both friendly and kind and wonderful to talk to. Love them! 💕

Looks nice. We went on a Sunday evening and Monday late afternoon. They had only fried items on Sunday and still no deli sandwiches or burgers on Monday. (Pizza was back, though) What we ate was good (fish and chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings) but wished the whole menu was available, especially the burger. We also asked for 2 scoops of Moose tracks ice cream but were told there was only enough left for one. ( No backup canister?)

We loved our lunch at the Outpost! The food was great and we had a nice view of the lake. One of the owners, Alan, was working and he was incredibly kind and helpful with sharing information about the island and helpful tips for our visit.

Everything you could want in an Island diner. Full bar, great views, and delicious food. Meaty chicken wings and extra cheesy pizza were some of our favorites.

Kid-friendliness: Kids menu has chicken fingers and cheese pizza.

We came in and sat down. There was only 1 table there with people and a girl sitting at bar eating. No one greeted us. We sat there a minute and saw a sign on bar that you place orders at the bar. So we got menus at bar and figured out what we wanted and the girl at bar eating came around and took our order. They were out of the sandwich my son order so he decided to order cheese sticks. My grandson has allergy so he asked what they cooked chicken strips and fries in and they couldn't answer him ,so he ordered them anyways and said he would test on his hand and lip before eating it. My husband got a sandwich and maybe a quarter cup of potatoe salad and I got 5 piece chicken wings and also potatoe salad. and We ordered 3 fountain drinks and 1 water. We waited about 15 to 20 min and they brought the cheese sticks to my son.(there where 5) He was going to wait to eat them when we got our stuff ,but I told him to eat them while they where hot. We waited about another 30 to 40 min. And was getting ready to tell them to forget the rest of the order and leave when they brought the rest of the food out. We still had not got our drinks so i went to cash counter and ask if we get our own or do they bring them to us and the lady there said im not sure, let me find out where the cups are and a man came up and said what do you have coming ,I'll get them at the bar. He filled 4 kinda small glasses with ice to the top and put water and pop in them. Not much to drink with all the ice. My grandson tested the chicken on his hand and lips the way he's supposed to ,but his lip started tingling so he didn't dare to eat any of it so my son ate them . There where 3 small strips. The potatoe salad did not look or taste like potatoe salad, so we didn't eat them . By this time we were all kinda ticked because of the waiting . There was only the one table in dining area that had thier food when we came in, but there was a big line of people at the counter wanting icecream after we came in, I think all the staff was over there helping them instead of getting our order in.No one came back to see how everything was or to see if we needed anything. Went to pay bill and it ended up being 77 plus dollars for lunch! The drinks where $3 and something a piece for mostly ice. The water was 25.cents for tap water . The potatoe salad we couldn't eat were $4.50 a piece. $12.00 for 3 chicken strips and $12.00 for 5 cheese sticks. Was not an enjoyable lunch time. We will not be going back there. We will either eat at the Hide-a-way, which we highly recommend and love it there or the bar which we recommend too. Not a good experience!

Fantastic spot for keeping in mind there’s no one else (except a bar) and it’s an island! ?

Apparently they cook their wings a tad differently, was much better! ? Tried the Michigan Northwoods cherry cream soda. Love it!

They have necessities (and some touristy stuff), not large stock, and supposedly the ice cream is good but haven’t tried it.

Parking: Enough spots but not large

Kid-friendliness: Ice cream, candy, and nice people!!
