Catbird at the Garfield Inn

Last night my wife and a couple of our friends attended “ Somm Slam” at The Catbird . It was a four course meal with two wine pairings with each course . The pairings were chosen by two wine sommeliers , Catbirds owner Mindy Lopus and Shewolfs Dan Reinisch . The guests voted on which wine paired best with the course . It was a blast! Awesome food and wines . We are so fortunate to have this restaraunt in Port Austin . Mindy and her staff do an exceptional job.

My wife and I just had the most wonderful dinner at the Catbird!, the moment we arrived was greeted with a smile and seated immediately….our waitress was very nice(sorry the name escapes me)who provided us with a little history of the establishment. We had the pleasure of dining outside on a perfect September evening and Service was outstanding but the best part was the food! I had the salmon and my wife had the the steak, both prepared perfectly… side dish was carrots OMG good!, my wife and I have dined at many 4/5 star restaurants throughout Michigan but this was honestly one of the best meals we have had in some time! Although it was a 1hour plus drive we will be coming back very soon for the fall menu. Thank you for this little gem in Port Austin!,

We were invited by friends to attend a 5 course meal with wine pairings. The event was sold out. They gave brief descriptions of the food and accompanying wine before each serving. Food was excellent and likewise the wine pairings. Highly recommend this new restaurant in a very old historical building.

This well known, historic hotel just joined the 21st century. A remake of the interior and a top, top flight restaurateur have transformed this place. The food is amazing and the service is warm and friendly. Everything on the menu is delicious, they have a VERY cool, thoughtful wine list. All fairly priced. Outdoor seating in a lovely, enclosed garden. The owner Mindy is awesome. This place is close to perfect ...

Great food served by gracious hosts! A true treat to eat here.

Catbird is an outstanding addition to Port Austin. My husband and I have tried brunch, dinner and most recently happy hour. All were phenomenal with unique and wonderful flavors for all our selections. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. So glad to have such a fabulous place as another more upscale meal choice in Port Austin!

What an awesome place for our anniversary.Loved our entire meal.An appetizer, wine, entrees and dessert.Mouth watering yumminess.Not sure who the chef is but we're coming back to taste more.

A wonderful experience. The food was high quality and the atmosphere was lovely. I wanted to try all the dishes! And Mindy was a warm and welcoming host. Definitely a must-visit when in the thumb!

We have eaten at Catbird for both dinner and brunch and have had fabulous experiences both times! The owners did a wonderful job re-decorating the Garfield Inn and the ambience is awesome. The food and service have also been impeccable. My personal favorite items on the menu are the whitefish, the ribeye, and the strawberry shortcake. Overall we highly recommend Catbird for dinner and brunch as it is by far the best dining in the thumb. We just wish we could bring it back to Birmingham with us to eat year round - it is that good!

Still reveling in last night’s dinner experience at Catbird! All three dishes-salmon, pasta and chicken-were superb. A beautiful setting and helpful, knowledgeable waitstaff. What a welcome addition to Port Austin!

Catbird deserves all of the stars. Wonderful warm atmosphere, friendly staff and phenomenal food. My parents, children and I enjoyed a delicious brunch outside last week. My picky 5 year old (autism) who never finishes food in public enjoyed EVERY last bite! Gorgeous setting for outside dining. We will definitely be back!

Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing restaurant in Port Austin! Hospitable host, delicious dishes with beautiful presentations, wide wine list and wonderful desserts. I recommend to everyone! I can't wait to come back here again and again.

Only had drinks today but what a fantastic place!great cocktail menu, and a very cool selection of liquors. All quality and niche. Very nice. Menu looks amazing as well. Can't wait to come back and eat!
