The bar recently sold and the new owners are doing a lot to spruce up the old bar and give it more reason to visit. The food is improving. They are still known for their Friday "all you can eat" Fish dinners. They are cleaning up the building, and adding more activities for the community to partake in. This is a landmark location in Port Hope Michigan. Its always busy.
The food is good ,menu shrunk but new owner has plans to renovate and fix it up so time will tell ,I just hope they don't take the old time hangout atmosphere out of it ,it matches the age of the town

Have heard for years that the Bay Port Hotel has great burgers from friends , and knew that M - Live had said it had the best burgers in the Michigan thumb region, but finally had an opportunity to go and try them out . And there all absolutely correct !!!! We had a 18oz Leroy burger , a patty melt and split a full order of fries, all were excellent , decent service , reasonable prices , best burgers we've had in a long time ! We will be visiting them again !
