We came in looking for a cheap sit down meal and that's exactly what we got.The menu is huge with everything from fish and chips to burritos. They have home made soup and deserts. Our waitress was friendly but hovered a lot barely giving us time to open the menu before asking if we were ready to order.I ordered the pan fried perch and my husband ordered the country fried steak. Both dinners came with soup or salad choice of potato a vegetable and dessert. The portions were really big. The bowls of soup were double what you would normally expect at a diner. The country fried steak came with two large steaks and a big portion of mashed potatoes and the perch came with two average size pieces and one smaller piece. My fish was very greasy for being pan fried and the bottom side of all three pieces were almost burnt. The fish was over done and flavorless and what little breading was on it was falling off because it was so wet. My fries were perfectly cooked. The clam chowder was actually delicious, but overly thick and a little grainy. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were great he said. He enjoyed the chicken noodle soup so much he filled up on that and was only able to eat a couple of bites of his dinner. The restaurant was clean, but the tables are very worn out, the seats were taped in several places. The prices are great for the amount of food you get, but the food is mediocre.

The food was decent. It was decently priced and you got a dessert which was putting or ice cream with the meals that we bought. I got the country fried steak. My wife got the perch.I will say the perch was a little greasy. According to her, the french fries that she got were really good. The mashed potatoes that I got with the country fried steak were really good. The vegetables however, avoid canned vegetables and if you ordered the broccoli, it's literally just broccoli florets on your plate. No seasoning, no nothingThe waitress was nice but a little pushy. We didn't really have time to look at the menu or anything before she came over three times to see if we were ready. She also said that most people know what they want before they sit down. I'm like this is our first time here so no we don't know hahaMy wife got to clam chowder. She said it was really good and tasted homemade. She did say it was a little gritty because they used too much cornstarch to thicken it up. I got the chicken noodle soup and it was actually really good and had big chunks of chicken in itAll in all good place to eat quick, easy and not too expensive. It was $31 for both of us to have those meals and like I said we also got pudding as a dessert

This is such a great little locally owned diner. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful. There are regulars that sit and have coffee and chat it up which gives it such a "neighborhood" feel. They have a big variety and the food has always been good. Their farmers omelette is SO good.

I eat here a lot! Its a comfortable diner that serves great food. The Staff are reliable and consistent. Most have worked there for years. It all adds up to a place I'm happy to be a regular at. Good job American Grill!!! The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo IS AMAZING. The Jamaican omelets unbelievable. And the breakfast sausage well, perfect ? ? ?Dietary restrictions: They are very flexible if I can't have the extra carbs or salty items. They often offer alternatives. Very nice staff. Willing to help.Kid-friendliness: There are often whole families eating, laughing, sharing.Wheelchair accessibility: Door are handicap accessible but a little awkward going thru them. Also the bathroom door makes it hard for a wheel chair but a walker or cane can manage it.

I was appalled at the prices. I paid $72 for food that was just plain nasty, and there was only 4 of us.Nyy brother in law & I got coneys & fries, they were literally smothered in chili & onions, couldn't even pick them up. Fries had a coating on them and tasted nasty. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. And I'll never waste my money here again.

I went to the wrong restaurant! How fortuitous! There's another place down the road that has Greek salad, but once I walked in, I realized I had erred. NOT to worry!! Judy was a gem! She was so very helpful and patient with my many questions (yes, I'm THAT customer)! The avgolemono (egg/lemon/rice) soup was thick, rich and very flavorful!1. That salad was ginormous; really enough for a 2nd meal. I don't do gluten, but I splurged and had 1 piece of their homemade pita and it was deeeeelish! The house salad dressing (pink Greek) was perfect. I might add, the coffee was pretty darn good as well. Thanks, Judy, for all your help. I'll be back- on purpose, next time!
