The manager Kyle is amazing. He’s been here since I’ve been coming out ! I love this restruant, my wife and I come all the way from lake Orion and we always make the time to get a bite here , professional atmosphere , great mix of personality’s at the bar ! And the food here is to die for ! You pay for the quality , but you won’t be disappointed! I recommend this place to anyone

I wish I could give zero stars.

We chose Freighters for our first Valentine’s Day date night after having two kids, and we were completely let down.

From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The hostess was rude, and when we were seated, there were straws, wrappers, and spilled liquid underneath our table. No one offered to clean it, and after being sat, no one came to our table for over 20 minutes.

When our waiter finally arrived- without greeting or introducing himself he just asked “has anyone been with you yet?” *mind you he had been in the section tending to TWO other tables the whole time we were there*. We ordered drinks (an old fashioned and a mocktail), along with cheese curds for an appetizer and a steak and burger for dinner. Our drinks didn’t come out for another 15 minutes. When the waiter brought them, I asked if he could put all of our food in at once if he didn’t already. He stated he already had because the kitchen was backed up. After that, we never saw him again.

Meanwhile, the couple seated right before us received their drinks, meals, and even dessert. Another table was served three appetizers during the time we sat there waiting. Our table was available after being on a waitlist of 35 minutes at 7:11pm and by 8:30pm we still had not received ANY of our food or seen our waiter again. We left money on the table to cover our drinks and left.

To make matters worse, the table next to us remained dirty the entire time we were there, and an 8-top nearby sat covered in dishes the whole evening. Where was the manager? The owner? There was no one walking around apologizing for long wait times, no communication, and absolutely no effort to offer compensation or make things right. I have worked in hospitality in years and the way this night was handled was absolutely careless.

I have given this establishment MANY changes, and this was the last straw. An absolute 0/10 experience.

This was supposed to be a special Valentine’s night out for us, and instead it was frustrating and disappointing. I will not be returning to Freighters, and I will be sharing this experience with others so they don’t waste their special occasions the way we did.

Very good first time experience.my son and I really enjoyed the breakfast the next morning good variety of items to choose from

It took 20 minutes to get 2 mocktails, 35 to get 1 appetizer (potato cakes), and 45 to get 1 order of fish tacos. Very slow service - and expo is apparently run by the manager - its wild that the expediter cannot seem to expedite the service. Food wasn't seasoned and it seems like they water down the salsa - it tasted like Pace was run through a filter to take out any flavor.

Slow service, mediocre food at best.

The menu needs grammar and spelling checking. The food was very good. The service was good. For the size of the establishment it was surprisingly empty. A much improved experience since I was there last (2-3 years)

Fantastic, food and service were excellent. Had the perch Poboy and the Wagyu burger, both absolutely excellent, the steak fries amazing, all the sauces were great. The service was great, honestly can’t find one negative thing about this dining experience. Drayvin and Dasha, both great servers. Had early lunch here, and actually came back for dinner. It was that good!!!

Had the Sunday morning Brunch Smash Burger and I will say it was a 10/10, and I recommend everyone to order this brunch dish.

Sounded like a cool place. Service was slow and seemed understaffed for a Saturday night. My husband liked his burger but my food was underwhelming. At least we saw a freighter.

We had a really good time the night before but the bar service was horrible my partner was trying to order drinks as we did the night before but there was a new bartender this evening and she declined my partners ID because the picture was “facing” a different way when we have never had problems with it before! She told us she didn’t trust it which I fully understand but at the same time like i said we were there the night before and have ordered plenty of drinks from other places and have never ever experienced something like that. The food was good and the servers were very nice but the bartender had a little bit of trust issues lol

Even with no heat they did a fantastic job. They went above and beyond for my wedding guests and my husband and I. The food was fabulous and our server was even better.

The food is not good here. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere is set apart by the view of the water... but the food was lacking. Several cold dishes, seemingly from frozen burgers and nearly inedible pork. If you want drinks and a quick bite the spot is serviceable. But we came for a late lunch and found fast food options on the way home more appetizing.
