Everything about our experience was 5 star except their completely lame priority seating concept. Who ever came up with that should be shot. If I make a reservation with a restaurant for a specific time then I expect them to honor that time and not tell me it's a 45 minute wait because I really didn't make a reservation (which I did), they said they really don't except reservations just priority seating. That's BS, then why are they on Open Table?

The restaurant was low on wait staff, so although it didn't seam busy took 30 minutes to get seated. Our waitress was very nice, but one order was incorrect and not served til almost everyone else was done eating. The chicken tenders were good size but overcooked. I haven't been there in about a year, but prices seemed to have really gone up. Drinks were good and well priced.

The food just really wasn't good. The baked potato seemed to be very old. The appetizer was just ok. There was so much smoke in the air it was almost unbearable. Need some sort of ventilation. The waitress was ok but was very timid and seemed unsure all the time when asking questions or for refills. Wish we had chosen another place. Will not go back.

Once we were seated, our experience was phenomenal. Great food, great server. However, our first priority seating experience was terrible. After arriving and letting the young man at the front know we had arrived, we waited in the waiting area. After 45 minutes of waiting, past our priority seating preferred time, I went back to the check-in to see how much longer of a wait. I was then informed we were checked-in properly. That was slightly discouraging. Probably shouldn't have that young man at the front, checking people in, if he's having these type of issues.

Our server was new. We didn't get our appetizer. My husband's food came out quite a while before ours. I asked for sauce on the side, the taco was smothered in the sauce. My friend wanted fries with hers, she got onion rings in error (and they charged us for them). The fish tacos were ice cold. Sent them back, and they were better but experience was absolutely terrible. It was my friends first visit and probably her last. I've been here many times and know this was not their normal but it was bad

We were not impressed. Two of us ordered steaks, not on the volcanic rock, bc we didnt want to smell like grease. We ordered medium rare steaks and were served well done steaks. They were sent back and when delivered the 2nd time they were medium, so still not right, but we ate them anyway. The server was attentive and apologetic. The noise was so loud it was hard to have a conversation, I doubt we will go again.

Party of 4 with priority seating reservation - did not have to wait at all for a table but it was early in the evening. First time coming in for dinner, we generally go for lunch and LOVE it but we will not go back at dinner time. 2 of us got the steak/lobster special. Had to ask for butter for the lobster & it was not clarified nor was it hot (kind of coagulated actually) to dip the lobster in. I ordered the chick/shrimp pasta dish. The temperature on my dish was so incredibly hot when I got it that I could not even eat it. I ate the bread, picked at a few pieces I could cool off & ended up taking it home & eating the next day. 4th person's steak was way overcooked - asked for Med Rare and it was definitely Med. When the waitress finally came back - we were halfway through our meal, we told her and she said she would tell the manager - the manager did a fully moving - "everything ok" - as he walked by the table and kept on going & never stopped to really ask or hear) how it was. Service was extremely slow. Took a very long time to get drinks (bottled beer and wine should not take long to get).

Food was excellent. Service was slow. We had empty glasses when they could have been full. I believe that the waitress was a bit stretched. It was Saturday night. We will be back

It took an hour and a half to get our food which were steaks we were cooking ourselves at the table. They also ran out of the soup we ordered. There was no apology for it taking so long and no offer to make it right. We will not return.

The waitress was kind and delivered what we requested but the service was SLOOOW. The food was very greasy it seemed like everything was over buttered and fatty. I was expecting an upscale steak house atmosphere but it was more like a zoo it was also very loud. It might be my fault for not digging deeper but this was more a sports bar experience not a fine dining experience. If you're watching a game and don't care much about the food quality or noise then this is fine. I wasn't expecting that based on the menu and other reviews.

Blackrock never disappoints, always a great meal and the OpenTable app makes it so easy to get a table it's awesome!

Great value for outstanding food. Filet was excellent . Side dishes were well prepared. Servers were very courteous and responsive . A must dining stop when in Kalamazoo .

It was a good restaurant with good food but the lighting was such harsh LED lights right over the table I had to look down to not get a headache and eventually had to get a hat out of the car
