I went to the Gingerbread event today December 21, 2025 at 5pm . I did not have time to get the lady’s name. As I was too upset to further engage in a conversation with her. I left . She was however, working the front of the restaurant as the Hostess/manager. Your aggression towards a customer for no reason was not Ok ! Do better in how you engage with your customers!
Fieldstone Grill, Portage, MI - Lovely atmosphere, Lousy food - Four of us went on Thanksgiving with high expectations of a delicious meal. Two of the turkey dinners were served with undercooked pink turkey. Everyone knows you should not eat pink poultry let alone serve it. How could they screw up a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving and then charge us $28.95. It came without the dressing. Had to ask for it and then received a little ball of dressing the size of a sherbet scoop. I feel so bad for my boyfriend who left hungry. We would have been better off going to Denny's or Bob Evans for a turkey dinner. My chicken was delicious however.
Very few things acceptable, When reservation was set I ask for a window table near the fireplace, was seated at the furthest table away from the widows, not the restaurants fault but the clientele was a bit of a surprise, expecting something a bit more upscale. We where there for thanksgiving, we had soup, salad, entrees, desserts and French wine, First the bisque was very nice, then to the Caesar salad, a complete disaster wilted romaine lettuce and a dressing that I have no idea what it was , one bite was all. Entrees served within a couple of minutes after the salad, the turkey was raw, just warm but clearly raw, the hostess took the unfinished salad and turkey plate, giving me credit for the salad, returning with a new plate of turkey and dressing, which was acceptable. The dessert of pumpkin tart and French Chardonnay were very nice , our server was a young lady that tried very hard to take care of us, as did the hostess quite please with both. The setting and decor also nice. So some things very nice to something entirely unacceptable. Both of us agreed for the price it’s not a place we would return to.
Went there today for lunch (November 25, 2025). My niece and her husband were here and they usually ask to go to Fieldstone when they are in town. Service was very slow. We all got sandwiches and it took almost an hour to get our food. The fries were cold and 3 of us got the roast beef sandwich. There was very little meat in the sandwiches. Very disappointed. I remember when those sandwiches were very good. Something has happened to Fieldstone and I would dare say I would never return. A very nice looking restaurant with a beautiful view but that is about it. At over $100 for lunch very high priced for sub par food.

I posted a review but only left 2 stars. That was a mistake. I added this review to increase to 5 stars. We go every Monday and have had only good experiences. They got a new chef recently and some side dishes are even better than they were. We enjoy going but do recommend reservations as the tables do fill up
Yummy. A bit cold inside.

Took almost an hour to get a sandwich. Limp half rotten salad and cold fries. And with hour long wait times for food some dope in a chef coat from the kitchen was at the host stand just chatting for about half an hour.

I’d eaten once previously at the Fieldstone Grill somewhere around 15 years ago; this was my first time back since the remodel and new chef. Interior is gorgeous and I loved the fireplace on a cold, rainy day. The wine list includes a good number of selections from France, Spain, Italy, and California. I chose the Apple Cobb salad with the salmon fillet, and the salad was delicious. The mulled cider vinaigrette uses local apple cider, and I love that the back of the menu features collaborations with local producers. You can also choose how you want your salmon prepared (medium-rare to well done). Service by Desmond was excellent and will definitely be back!

Came here for our 47th wedding anniversary. It’s been a long time since I had a dinner as good as it was at Fieldstone Grill. Hannah was amazing as our server. Very pleasant and a wonderful smile. Haven’t been here in years because we moved from the area. But this is an amazing place to dine. Give it a try,
beyond excellent.

We get together at Fieldstone once a year. It was a group of 8 and we made a reservation. They strongly suggested we NOT break up the bill to individuals/couples. I wasn't crazy about that, but I didn't want any trouble. Service was great. the server Kayla was terrific. My expectorations were not very high from past experiences, but the food really disappointed. Several of us ordered the Chicken sandwich and it was nearly non-eatable. Pizza was not good; wraps were decent but not anything we'd order again. They insisted we keep the bill as 1 and then charged a 22% auto gratuity. Yes, the practice of an auto gratuity with a large group is normal but when did it go to 22%? not happy, not likely going back any time soon.
Never even knew this place was here but WOW. Beautiful building, delicious food and incredible service! My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat last minute on a Saturday and I thought our options would at least be severely limited at best but a simple google search sent us to this BEAUTIFUL restaurant. The experience itself was nothing short of phenomenal. The waitstaff are very kind and the food was great too. This place should be packed out every day!
