Since moving to the area years ago this has been the only place that I would say has good Chinese food, eaten here countless times over that span and I've never been disappointed.
It's a family place that has been here for decades. That should speak for itself.

Haven't been to Joy Fong for about 20 years. Should have been a heads up when the lady shooed me away from the door! The place is filthy! Ordered anyway......what a mistake. My husband has been ill since eating last night. He had sweet sour shrimp with steemed rice. I has peapod and shrimp...3 little shrimp. The egg rolls were hideous. Couldn't tell by looking what was inside. Sure should have read the reviews. Only stopped because of the Kalamazoo Gazette story in November 2024. Guess they didn't eat while they were there.

The rice was burnt, the vegetables tasted rotten, the chicken was dry and chewy like jerky. The egg rolls had cinnamon in them. This is easily the most foul Chinese food i have ever tasted. Please save your money and your appetite.

Ordered sesame chicken combo. The chicken was great, so was the veggie egg roll. I didn't care for the density of the stir fried rice. Seemed like it was weighed down with too much of something.

Sadly I have never been as sick as i got from here april 28th 2025. Got the sesame chicken, ate two bites and went wow this is bad. I didn't finish it and within 10 minutes I was sick and puking for 18 hours. I'm just now back to consciousness.
If you go in you'll quickly question how this restaurant got such a high rating. The only thing that makes sense is fake reviews because it's clear as day this place is unsanitary and gross.
Don't eat here, you will puke your guts out.

absolutely LOVE Joy Fong! the staff is so friendly, and always takes genuine care for their food and customers.
Highly recommend trying the Hot & Sour soup, it’s consistently delicious and absolutely perfect for a rainy day or a special treat!

This was my first time here, because it is close to where I work and this probably the best chinese food I've had in kalamazoo. The sesame chicken was crispy and was at the perfect spice level (I ordered medium). Fried rice tasted fresh and was a good amount of food for the price. Would go again.

Parking: I'm sorry. They don't have dining in anymore, but i'm very glad that they will bring it out to your car.So you don't have to go in to get the food. They are the best. Strongly recommend the mushroom egg fouillong, and the pea pods.
