I've only been here twice in the last 2 weeks. The first server may have been having a bad day? No smiles & not welcoming at all. Didn't return to the table to check on me. There were only three tables with customers. The second server was friendly but only came back to the table as I was getting ready to leave. Again, not a busy time with 4/5 tables in use. The hash browns were extremely oily & $2.50 seems pretty high for an extra egg. I think they offer senior discount which is very helpful.

Very bland food, tastes like heat and serve.
Many other choices are available in Portage that have flavor in their dishes.

Food was fast and delicious. Other than the name change this place is still a favorite spot to eat breakfast.

Very solid classic breakfast. The skillet was fresh and the eggs were cooked nicely. Friend got a Benedict and it's nice to have a whole grain English muffin option.

Second visit to Marks. First visit wasn’t a very good experience, but Mark adjusted the bill to accommodate, which was appreciated but not necessary. I’m leaving this review so that hopefully the information helps to make this a better place to eat.
Seated quickly, and drinks delivered quick. Asked for a couple minutes to decide on menu. However, waitress got caught up ringing the register and having a conversation with Mark while we waited for about 10-15. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict with American fries and wife had a waffle. My meal came with a pretty big slab of ham. The unfortunate part was that this was on some sort of whole grain English muffin, which was awful. The hollandaise sauce was very bland. American fries were good. Overall, this wasn’t as good as I had hoped for. Needed flavor and perhaps a bit more sauce. My wife said her waffle was very bland. Kind of hard to screw up a waffle, but it seems that was the case on this visit.
All in all, it’s edible, but for the prices on these items, there are plenty of other options. I don’t mind paying for quality, but this wasn’t it. I hope this information helps to improve your business as I would love to see this place successful, but personally, it is very unlikely that we would return unless we heard better things about Marks Diner.
