Great little find just a drive off the freeway. Driving across the state and decided to pass the array of fast food at exit 77 and see what the town had. Don Jose is right on the river, with river views. Service was quick and food came out fast. We were in and out in 30 minutes. Grear portions too, left full.
I almost don't know how to word this review without making it sound fake. I love Mexican food and I've been privileged to eat some amazing cuisine in Houston, Austin, Dallas... but Don Jose in Portland, MI (???) is the best I've ever had, and the prices are crazy good.

Get the quesabiria tacos AND a chile relleno AND a lime Jarritos or Horchata. SO GOOD!!!!!!! Take leftover quesabiria tacos home, chop half up the next day, warm in a skillet, scramble it with egg and cheese - amazing breakfast burrito.
