Excellent service, quality products!
My first time ordering from Ackroyd's was a fantastic experience! (I tried the scones and butteries) I will soon try the other fine products, the website is awesome and the products are so fresh and delicious, highly recommended!
Not purchased for ages as I lost info. But they are still wonderful
Food better be amazing because customer services has left a lot to be desired. When I called I stated I was a first time guest and needed a few questions answered. The man was very short w/me, huffed and acted exasperated. When we decided I should pick up vs shipping no one mentioned the building was almost indiscernible, with no address and no sign. When I called to confirm location, again my questions were responded to by someone who seemed bothered I was asking. Corrected me on the difference between a truck door and a truck well then said the reason they didn’t have a sign is because they were expensive. I, too am a small business owner in the area, but would never bite the hand that feeds me, and speak to somebody who has an inquiring mind the same way I was spoken to. And yes, you do have control over the photos that Google posts for you. You just have to take the time to do it as I have done. Like I said, I hope the food is worth it.
Husband took me there on a date 35 years ago..best Ever .
This was very Disappointing they haven't been open to the public for 4 years. It's just order online and pick it up in a parking lot. So all of these photos must have been before they shutdown to the public. The website is very deceiving.
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the meat pies with their mystery hockey puck of meat.My family has been shopping this store since the 1950s and have always had excellent food. The last 2 shopping trips have had great results on the sausages, but the meat pies have been atrocious.I will continue shopping as I have found no better replacements, but I will no longer be ordering the meat pies and that makes me so sad. Please return to the former glory of having the pies filled with loose meat and not the horrid hockey puck of weirdly frozen flavor.
The meat pies and chicken pies were exactly as described in recent reviews...very dry and short on flavor. Adding 2 teaspoons of water to the meat pie did nothing for it. I see now that the owner's responses to negative reviews is to lash out at the reviewer aka the customer. Not a good strategy. Try getting the quality of these pies inproved to something that more closely resembles the real Scottish version. Apparently the bakery used to sell better pies, so concentrate your anger in that direction instead. Scotland is about 3500 miles from Reford and that's how far Ackroyd's pies are from the real thing.
Great products . I stopped by the old location didnt realize they moved. Looking forward to checking out there new spot.
Did you change your meat inside the meat pies as the meat is clumped together it is not fine like l remember it.

Not a retail shop / industrial bakery for online orders & online order pickup.... Does not look like store front as seen in pictures
Wow almost afraid to post my review. Called in my order. Received underwhelmed. The rebuttals for this business is brutal I called and voiced my concerns bullied and belittled. Won’t be getting my business. Good luck with your location on Plymouth road
Ordered the Irish Soda Bread a couple of days ago and it arrived in Wisconsin yesterday, super fresh. I will be getting my bread from there in the future.
Really appreciated the level of customer service that these guys showed, when I ordered their haggis for a Burns Night supper, in Seattle. (Making sure my order was correct, would arrive on time, and even threw in a fabulous link of their black pudding)Their haggis was an absolute hit, and even the kids came back for seconds.
My family has shopped at Ackroyd’s since the 1960’s (my grandfather, Archie Provan, was a baker there). As a Scottish family, we grew up with meat pies, black puddin’, sausage, steak pies, fresh bread and all the sweets. My last order of meat pies were dry and unsavory, the black puddin’ was not as I remember, the butter tarts were dry and were falling apart when I got them. I can’t justify ordering again as the food is not the same and the shipping and product costs are exorbitant! It’s such a shame!Margaret Cleland Woodhouse
