Staff was very short and confrontational. In town (been gone many a years). I did not understand their new to me business model. They made me feel stupid Perhaps I should have read the website they suggested!

Thank you, Ackroyd’s for bringing a bit of nostalgia and a stroll down memory lane to my sister on her birthday. My grandmother and sister and I used to walk down to Smith’s bakery in Wilkinsburg Pennsylvania, and get their Scottish meat pies. It was always such a delicious treat! The only other time we were fortunate enough to have them is when we attended the Highland games in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Now that I’m living in Italy, I want to make my sister smile on her birthday and I did. She says it taste just like she remembers and her makes her think of our grandmother and parents every time she eats them. But the most special treat was the empire biscuits… I can’t remember making these with my grandmother on holidays and special occasions, and my sister was truly touched by how you perfected this old Scottish recipe. I can’t thank you enough. Lastly, although I’ve never had it and she never did either she loved the macaroni pies sent her. Some of these two thought it sounded interesting. Grazie Millie!

Although I didn't prefer the meat pies, their butteries and blueberry scones are out of this world. Better than any box or bag of scones I've ever purchased and made. Can't wait to try the Mac and cheese pies and review. Looking forward to review again! Wish I took a picture of before i inhaled them. Oh, we'll look at the pictures on their website.

Everything is frozen. 😳I have been coming here for 40 years with my family. Meat Pies were good. The sausage roll is nowhere near the original Bridies. The almond cookies were supposed to taste the same as well but the new almond tart is bland. Disappointed😩

I ordered 24 meat pies, and they were outstanding! The meat was high-quality, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned throughout—you can really tell how much care goes into making them.
Shipping was excellent, too. Everything arrived right on time and still completely frozen, which gave me a lot of confidence in the handling and packaging. In just one day, we’re already down to 11. I promise, I tried to share! Many thanks from Nashville!

Easy curbside pickup. Never had meat pies before, but the crust is delicious, as is the tender ground beef inside. Definitely makes me want more. Empire biscuits are tasty as well

My first order - Scotch pies - *****.
Authentic texture and flavor. The original Scottish recipe uses lamb of course, but lamb in Scotland and USA is very different.

Beef bangers - **
ok. Very fatty, so shrink a whole lot when frying (even on low). Lacks spices. Maybe needs more rusk/breadcrumbs to retain the OG moisture and juiciness.

Shortbread (ginger)
- * or less if available.
The worst shortbread I’ve ever tasted or made, and that’s saying a lot. Unpleasant soft, mushy texture.
Bought two packs and binned them all after trying 2 fingers.

Black pudding: -**
I guess they use the same sausage casings as their “bangers”. Not Scottish style - big lumps of fat in it, so more like Lancashire style but being so skinny, it’s dry and sparse. Have they even heard of Stornaway black pudding (or blood sausage as said here)? Have they ever tasted authentic Irish black pudding which is close to the proper Scottish style.

I also have their haggis in my freezer but not expecting much, sadly.

I was excited to find a Scottish style bakery/butchers in MI but I’m probably not ordering from them again,

Hello, I’m from Glasgow Scotland. I came across you randomly on YouTube and thought I’d check out your site. Can I suggest you should stock Irn Bru and potato scones. Also crispy morning rolls are a big part of our breakfast culture. All the best from the Lord.

Food better be amazing because customer services has left a lot to be desired. When I called I stated I was a first time guest and needed a few questions answered. The man was very short w/me, huffed and acted exasperated. When we decided I should pick up vs shipping no one mentioned the building was almost indiscernible, with no address and no sign. When I called to confirm location, again my questions were responded to by someone who seemed bothered I was asking. Corrected me on the difference between a truck door and a truck well then said the reason they didn’t have a sign is because they were expensive. I, too am a small business owner in the area, but would never bite the hand that feeds me, and speak to somebody who has an inquiring mind the same way I was spoken to. And yes, you do have control over the photos that Google posts for you. You just have to take the time to do it as I have done. Like I said, I hope the food is worth it.

This was very Disappointing they haven't been open to the public for 4 years. It's just order online and pick it up in a parking lot. So all of these photos must have been before they shutdown to the public. The website is very deceiving.
