SOHO offers delicious Japanese and Korean dishes with generous portions. The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Great spot for lunch or dinner. Can get busy, but worth the wait!

I donāt normally leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience due to how poorly my group and I were treated.
We visited the restaurant as a group of friends and were surprised to be seated separately, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Wanting to enjoy our meal together, I politely moved two adjacent tables closer so we could sit as a group. Shortly after, a staff member approached us in a highly aggressive and confrontational manner, insisting the tables could not be movedāeven though they were right next to each other and we were not disrupting any other diners.
She raised her voice and continued to repeat herself without offering any reasonable explanation, making the situation very uncomfortable. She also wrongly accused another member of our group of disobeying her instructions, even though she had not communicated anything clearly beforehand.
Despite ultimately complying and sitting separately, she returned mid-meal to again express that she didnāt like that we wanted to move the tables ā even though we hadnāt. It felt as though we were being singled out and micromanaged in an unwelcoming and unprofessional way.
When the bills came, we were told a 20% gratuity would be automatically applied due to being a ālarge group.ā I explained that we were seated separately and paid separately as two smaller groups ā one of four and one of five ā and that it didnāt make sense to apply an automatic gratuity in this case. I also expressed that, given the poor customer service and uncomfortable tone throughout our meal, I did not feel a 20% tip was appropriate. The staff member continued to argue, insisting that she relies on tips for her income, and even the owner pressured us by saying it was āunfairā not to tip 20%.
Itās deeply disappointing to be treated with hostility in a setting that should be warm and hospitable. We were respectful guests who simply wanted to sit together, and we were met with rudeness, repeated interruptions, and an unwillingness to accommodate even the most basic request.
Sadly, this experience overshadowed the meal and left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I would not return and cannot recommend this restaurant based on the way we were treated.
Also, bathroom was very dirty

I have been coming to soho for 8 years and today I was harassed by one of the waiters. We were repeatedly asked to hurry up, finish our food, pay the bill, and leave because they were closing their register. There was a party behind us who were hanging out after finishing their meals and were not treated the same way. I was asked to sign the bill as I was eating (mid-bite) so I forgot to tip. The waiter then came back to our table and started harassing us for not tipping. We apologized and explained that because we were being rushed to sign the bill in the middle of our meal, we overlooked the tip section. We even offered to leave a tip if he brought the bill out. Instead, he continued to yell at us and then called out his manager who then diffused the situation and told us not to worry about it and we left. WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK HERE!!!!!

Nice place for Sapporo on tap and sushi. They sell by the piece instead of roll, which the vegetable ones are sold by the roll. Just be mindful of that. Otherwise it's a great experience.

i ordered the sunday mornimg roll and i barely got any salmon in some of the pieces, and in a few other pieces i got a normal amount. I was mostly eating rice at that point. it was a very uneven ratio of salmon, cream cheese and rice, where it was mostly rice overall.
Was hitting Emagine theater in a couple hours and decided to get a meal in the vicinity and saw this gem if a place! It is Japanese/Korean cuisine and oh so good! The service was great, the atmosphere is wonderful and the food was outstanding! Lovely decorated restaurant and the staff was very attentive. We ordered some basics today because we didn't particularly feel like going to crazy. We got their Beef Bulgogi and Chicken Tangsooyook with the sweat and sour sauce on the side for dipping. Everything was fresh and hot. The chicken was fried to perfection and really crispy! The cuts of beef they use for their Bulgogi is unmatched and I have tried that dish in many korean restaurants. Very lean, no fat at all and the smokey sweet marinade was wonderful. The kimchi was fermented perfectly with a bit of a kick but not super sour like a lot of kimchi. I loved it! If you are in the Rochester area check out SOHO! Thank me later!

Tried Spicy ramen and Hot n Spicy chicken lunch box, both tasted okay, might not try again. Hot night Sushi role was amazing though and Tempura cheese cake delicious! Beautiful ambience, so will visit again maybe to try Bibimbab!
