Was thinking about going back to this Big boys after staying away from this location for probably 4 years due to lousy food and service. After reading these reviews I can see nothing has changed . Same lousy food and service. Glad I didn’t give it another try . We have several friends and relatives that won’t go back also. Need to close up and get another restaurant in there, it’s been a loser for years

Monica at the Big Boy (S Rochester Rd) was PHENOMENAL. I never write reviews, but she was just so sweet and attentive to me and my daughter on our Sunday outing (even giving my daughter some free dessert and writing a smiley face in whipped cream on her pancakes). She went above and beyond the whole experience. Would 10/10 come back here just for Monica!

I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but I was honestly disappointed this time. I ordered pancakes and they came out badly burnt dark all over and bitter to taste, not just “well done.” I understand kitchens get busy and mistakes happen, which is why I didn’t make a big deal at the time, but for the price and reputation, this shouldn’t have gone out to a customer. Big Boy’s is normally solid, so I hope this was just an off moment. I’d like to see more care taken before food is served, because the potential is definitely there.

To start the waitress was amazing and very welcoming and attentive. The food was absolutely DISGUSTING! There was mold on the grapes. The mandarin oranges tasted almost like fermented, the pasta salads looked like they had been out for days, and the salad was old and wilted. Whoever is supposed to be checking on these things is not doing well and these are pure health hazards. I do not recommend this location.

I was next door at Bolyard lumber for a delivery and decided to try a Big Boy burger. The waitstaff and management at Big Boy are super friendly and cute. Joannie greeted me when I arrived and took my order, she was very patient and helpful in my decision making. I ordered a bbq bacon cheeseburger with fries and onion rings and a strawberry milkshake. Sammie bagged my order and hand it to me. She is a very pleasant and friendly person eh. (Inside joke). I was impressed with the service and enjoy the conversation with everyone there. My Big Boy burger was amazing and the strawberry milkshake was awesome. This was my first time trying a Big Boy burger and I can't wait to come back again. I give this restaurant 5 stars for excellent service, excellent food and excellent atmosphere to dine in or dine out.

I ordered French toast with a side of bacon, and when I got the French toast, the inside was still liquidity from the batter. They use to dip it in when I said something about it instead of making a new one they just slapped them back on the grill for a few minutes and gave them back to me. It ruined the flavor of the cinnamon because I got the cinnamon in French toast if the grill wasn’t so hot. It would’ve cooked evenly and right and not to the point where the outer part was burnt in the inside was liquid. Spend way too much on these meals for them to be messed up like that.

Really disappointed 😔 really bad service the cook looked angry and racist I could tell the moment I stepped in very not welcoming.
The food is okay I will never touch foot to eat here again at the end of the day your paying. I had money to buy next time I’ll rather have coffee at Tim’s down the road
Salad bar looked scary 😨 old fruit & veggies I ordered a side of fresh fruit with my big boy burger.. 😔 The lemon in my water dark spots.. This restaurant Not recommended wait staff doing the best with what they have to work with.. The one on Garfield and m-59 is a nice one..

I visited the Big Boy location in Rochester for dessert! I wanted the famous banana pie 🥧. Not only did my family and I get a banana pie but Ms. Monica Lynn made us a fresh pie in front of our faces! The service was catered towards us! I look forward to going back on my next visit to the Detroit metro area! This is an awesome location for food and service! Thank you Rochester Big Boy staff!

They were out of the one thing I wanted so it was a disappointment. Settled for a big boy hamburger and onion rings - both pretty awful. Will ask about menu next time I go in the door so not to get stuck.
