George's Coney Island & Family Restaurant

DONT GET THE LEMON RICE SOUP!!!!!!!!
First, ive been coming here for years, i get the same thing everytime i come, a quart of lemon rice soup and chicky strips. This time has ruined the restaurant for my family and I. I order a carry out of my usual and i find a big nasty looking bug in the soup while pouring it out for my kid. I scoop it out take a few pics inspect some more take some more pics and yes for sure it is a bug. I call up to speak with a manager and the waitress asked who i was before telling me he wont take my call. She had an attitude the entire phone call while telling me “this has never happened before?” “Are you sure its a bug?” So i take it back for a refund, the same lady doesnt say a word to me grabs the soup and looks inside an proceeds to ask me “wheres the bug” i showed her the pictures i took and she reluctantly gave me a refund.

Nice restaurant, we come here with the whole family every week, welcoming staff, very friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices and delicious cuisine.

George's is a family favorite. We like to sit at the counter and watch the cook, who is a master at his craft and fun to watch. George's feta is imported from Greece and is the best we've ever had. You can get fresh-squeezed orange juice all day long. The portions are generous. Our son usually orders whatever coney special is offered, and my husband likes the gyro combos. I order the lemon rice soup and then from all over the menu. We often buy a pint of the Greek salad dressing for home use. The only item I have ever been disappointed in was the London broil, which was too salty for my tastes. We took our entire family there during our 50th anniversary celebrations. Everyone was pleased, especially the grandsons.

Vegetarian options: Lemon rice soup, spinach pie, spaghetti, stir-fry, salads, etc.

Parking: Many spaces right in front, more in regular and side lot.

Kid-friendliness: Our grandsonsfrom out-of-town enjoyed their meals and want to go back. They loved the coneys. High chairs are available.
