One of their bartenders repeatedly verbally abuses strangers. Michele Gumm should not be anywhere near the public and is a horrible representation of this company.

I often work side-by-side with referrals to-and-from Kosch Catering, and they are great people! When I am booked for catering, I have no problem referring customers over to this company! :)

We had a wonderful experience with Kosch Hospitality at the Chateau on the River at our Class Reunion. It is a beautiful venue, with excellent food and service. The staff, especially the general manager and the event manager were very helpful and accommodating.

Great tasting food! Only complaint would be getting pushed around to three or four different representatives while planning my event. However, all were professional and helpful. Glad we went with them for our reception catering!

We paid for 100 guests, the amount of food barely served the 88 people that showed. Total cost of our event was around $2,500 but we prepaid around $3,000 (had to reduce guest count due to COVID) and Kosch is refusing to refund the difference due to “negative margins.” To be fair, the food was adequate, but Kosch’s communication and the constant changing of point of contacts was less than desirable. If you are looking for a caterer, I would advise looking somewhere else.

True Score: Zero StarsI wish I could say something good about my experience with Kosch but the only thing I can say is I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to them.Communication is horrible, entirely untimely, often rude responses. Quick to take your money and disappear right after. How they have remained open this long with the way they treat customers is a mystery to me. Email response time - days to weeks, phone call repose time - still has never happened.Our tasting was canceled and never rescheduled then a month our from our wedding we were told that we could no longer use the venue we booked. They then refused to refund any of our money instead demanding we reschedule or let then bring us food. When we informed that would not work they reduced to return calls or attempt to come to an agreeable remedy.So after nothing but cancellations and rude correspondence and ignored calls it has come to this. Save your time,money, and stress just book with someone else.

My fiancé and I booked our wedding with Kosch and started planning our dream wedding. Things quickly went south with lack of communication on their end. First our tasting event was canceled one week prior to the event, next our event coordinator left the company and we were assigned someone new, this was not communicated to us until trying to contact the previous coordinator in an attempt to finalize some details. It was a constant voice mail and email waiting game dealing with them. Finally we were told just 30 days prior to our wedding that our event would not be able to go through and no dates would be available the remainder of the year. Faced with this tough decision we requested a refund being as no services had been rendered and they would not be able to host our wedding and on such short notices a change of venue or date simply was not possible or acceptable. I was then told that they would not honor a refund. So our deposit plus extra money paid towards our event is all being withheld without and services being provided. DO NOT BOOK YOUR EVENT WITH KOSCH!

Extremely disapointed in Kosch Catering.I was supposed to have my bridal shower at the Chateau on the River on April 26th, but due to the current Stay Home order, I was forced to reschedule. My new date was supposed to be May 16th at 5:30pm.My one and only positive about this review was my coordinator, who was extremely kind and understanding. I will be keeping names out of this review, as my main concern and complaints are geared towards mangement/owners...that's it.So fast forward a little bit. I was trying to get a hold of someone from Kosch to see what our options are if the stay home order was extended again, but there was no answer. So I try to call over the next few days and still no answer. I was trying to avoid calling/texting my coordinator, as I knew she was not actually working during the pandemic due to cancellation of events. After failed attempts of calling the main office, I finally just ended up calling my coordinator instead. Her and I talked for a bit before she disclosed to me that she was no longer with the company.On May 7th, the govenor extended the stay home order to May 28th, so we knew we would have to move our shower again. At this point, my fiance and I had already decided that we needed to postpone our wedding to next year. My full intention was to reschedule my shower to sometime next year at the same venue. Remember, at no point through this entire procoess has ANYONE from Kosch reached out to me... and I now have no desire to do business with them. So on May 8th, I call and FINALLY get through to someone. I was told that I cannot receive my deposit back and my only option is to reschedule. I understand that it states that in the contract, but I feel like Kosch did not hold up to their end of the deal, therefore, we needed to discuss further. This discussion needed to happen with someone in management so that we could come to a resoltion...but management has been no where to be found!I made several attempts to call and try to connect with them to see what I was suppsoed to do, to NO avail. I tried to call and reschedule. Grant and Gordon Kosch's voice-mailbox is full and they have not returned calls. The gentleman who i spoke to on the 8th also said he would email Grant and let him know to call me and I still recieved no call.My original AND rescheduled shower date have came and went and I have not once heard from anyone at Kosch. I called again today and spoke to the same man I talked to on May 8th. I let him know that Grant never followed-up on his email request to call me. He was sympathetic and expressed to me that unfortunately he did not have permission to give me a refund and that he was only instructed to reschedule events or apply the $500 deposit to a new event. And that's when I decided to leave a review, as I have given Kosch probably more opportunities than I should have to just COMMUNICATE with me.I'm not asking for a miracle, I'm asking for the owners of Kosch Catering to be decent human beings and work with the people who were so eager to have their showers/events at one of their sites. I love to support small local businesses and much as I can, and I have never ever been let down until now. It's a shame how lack of communication can completely destroy someone's outlook of your reputation.I feel terrible for the other brides and/or new moms who are going through this and can't even get a call back. This situation could have been handled very differently. If you take anything away from this review, let it be this....how you treat your customers and employees during this pandemic will define you for the next decade. I will never recommend Kosch Catering to anyone I know or love.

Kosch is such a great caterer to work with! I had great communication with them, from booking to payment to week/day of! The service we got day of was so above and beyond our expectations, I never needed a water refill and they kept the buffet moving! The barbeque was so good, we received so many compliments! You will have an incredible event with this vendor!

Kosch Catering catered my daughers wedding at Indian Springs Metropark on Friday. Michelle was our coordinator and she was awesome and the food was delicious! We got a ton of compliments

We had our wedding at Indian Springs Metropark and were required to use Kosch Catering. Lana was very thorough to work with through email. She always answered all of our questions very quickly. The food selection was expansive. Our guests really enjoyed our food! We had the strolling dinner package. Michelle was our day of coordinator and she was AMAZING. I loved working with Michelle. She was very kind and thorough.

Just had an event at the Detroit Historical Museum, people could not stop talking about the great food and catering staff! Emily at Kosch was very professional and pleasant person who organized my event perfectly. I would highly recommend them again. Thanks again for the great job.
