First time at this site. Small, cozy and welcoming atmosphere. 5 of us dropped in for evening drinks and dinner ( 8:00 pm on).
We ordered the 3 dip Special- excellent flavor profile on the queso, guacamole was fantastic and the salsa was a perfect finish for the fresh baked chips.
Drinks: best bourbon old fashion I can remember. Generous pour, complex and enjoyable flavors. I enjoy on the rocks with an ice back. Options are offered. Beer list extensive . Mixed drinks- impressive and well crafted.
Waitstaff- Lauren was our person and excelled in providing service and a gentle thread of humor and personality. Prompt and efficient plus a genuine interest in making shire we had a good experience.
Definitely a place to revisit!

We’ve been here with a small group a few times! It’s small & cozy. The staff is wonderful. The food is very good. The Mexican pizza is delicious! They also have a great selection of whisky. Great place for dinner & drinks!

Fun new experience with friends! Wait staff was attentive even with a packed restaurant. Food and drinks were all amazing. I don't typically order tacos, but I couldn't resist giving them a try. They were as good as I hoped they would be and I will definitely order them again.

My family hosted a retirement party for me at The Backdoor last night and it was fabulous! The food, the cocktails, the service, the whole package. Highly recommend for your special event. Matt and Megan were so attentive to all of our guests. We had a blast. Thanks for making the celebration so special! -LD

We went during happy hour and it was evenly packed and getting few more tables filled. Nice comfy little place with great drink options, great menu and great place to hang out early evening. Parking is also not too challenging. There are options across the road, there's a parking garage. The tacos were good. The shredded chicken was overloaded with chicken. And the shrimp taco had a nice crunch with the added coleslaw. I am not a big coleslaw fan with shrimp tacos but someone may enjoy them.
Will be back!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Rochester. The atmosphere alone makes it perfect for a great night out. The Midnight margarita is a must try and the dip trio is one of my go-to starters. If you’re looking for a spot with great vibes, attentive service, and consistently delicious food and drinks, this is the place for you! Highly recommend!

Really cute place! My husband is a tequila man and they had lots of new things for him to try!
Outstanding happy hour experience today! Love the atmosphere and the menu. Margaritas were yummy. Service was great.
I visited with a party of 3 and we sat at the bar around 7:00 on a friday night. We were initially served drinks quickly but after that it was almost impossible to flag down any bartender to put in our appetizer/food orders. We got the chips and salsa to start, which was good, but we were all needing water and unable to get some from any of the bartenders that quickly passed by. Dinner eventually came and one of us was missing the side of rice we ordered- it was never received. The food runner was more attentive than the bartender! As we ate, we quickly noticed that other customers around us were sitting with empty drinks and their credit cards out waiting for the bills. The couple sitting next to us waited over 25 minutes to be cashed out. We all wanted a second round of drinks but couldn’t get any because we couldn’t get any of the bartenders attentions- on top of our 3 empty drinks piled together. One of the bartenders exclusively tended to her friends next to us and continued to get them multiple rounds of drinks and shots while we were waiting with a card ready and asking for water for over 20 minutes. Some of the worst service I’ve experienced in Rochester so I can’t recommend this place.
I called in advance to ask if they could handle nut allergies and was told they could but when we got there almost everything on the menu had been in contact with nuts in someway! I wish the person I spoke to on the phone mentioned this to me so I could have picked a different place. The food was good but when we got the check we realized they didn't removed the food we couldn't get.
They need to be more organized on handling people and they should double check the checks before sending it to tables.
