10/10! Monarch pulled off a last minute order for me & the cupcakes were DELICIOUS! Best i’ve had. Also had great recommendations for cake / frosting pairing.

The banana pie I ordered was ok. It basically tasted like banana pudding in a store boughten pie crust, with brown sliced bananas as decor. It would have passed the test if not for the $30 cost. For $30 I expected more.
Got 2 apple cider macarons and they had no flavor. Just sickly sweet. Also got a cookies and cream one, which was better, but only because of the white chocolate it was dipped in. All 3 of them were underbaked and raw on the inside.
Decoration absolutely awesome. Definitely noticeable when a new decorator started. Cakes are always delicious, however this time I ordered a bday cake I was bummed that there were little hard balls throughout the cake itself and no one seemed to really care that much or even simply apologize. As a loyal customer I was providing kind feedback. Customer service could be better in that regard. The cake was gorgeous. The decoration on the cake outdid the cake itself. I have high hopes that next cake will be better.
When Monarch opened, I had been saying for a while that Rockford needed a good bakery, sadly I think we'll still be waiting. Like other reviews have noted, the baked goods were dry and bland. And too expensive for being that way. We went in when they first opened and had the aforementioned experience, but thought we would give them time for them to work out the kinks and try again. But a year later, the second scone we had was just as dry and bland as the first. Hope they can improve.
I stopped there a few days ago and got a somoa-type cookie, an orange white chocolate thing and a coconut macaroon. The coconut macaroon was mildly okay, but the other two pretty much tasted like sugar, no real flavor at all. Considering the price, I expect much more.
i live in nevada, but stay in michigan during the summers. i discovered monarch bakery last summer, and was so excited, as they have vegan options.last summer during the 3-5 occasions we went in to grab bakery items, we also went to their cooler section to grab a bottle of soda. each time, we had to search through bottles to find one that was not expired. we told a worker on at least 2 occasions about the expired bottles.fast forward to this summer - we have been in at least 3 different times. each and every time, their bottled drinks are expired. and this year, not just a couple. they ALL were, aside from 1 bottle of apple juice, which was set to expire in 2 days. and each time, my girl friend brings an expired bottle up to the counter to show them. and every time, a worker acts horrified (seemingly somebody different each time) and says they will take care it. but again, each time we come back, they remain expired.i am a huge fan of small and local businesses and especially those with vegan options. (we love the little devils) but i feel it is not only unprofessional, but unsafe to continuously ignore and serve expired drinks. it makes me question the integrity and quality behind the baked goods…
Pros: the cake and cupcakes looked beautifulCons: literally everything elseThe cake and cupcakes were very dry. The staff was rude and unprofessional. We were never sent a digital contract or any reminders or guidelines about the set up and pick up/drop off of rentals. When I called the next day to ask for help with returning the rental stand, the owner Abbey was literally yelling at me to the point where we could no longer continue the phone call. Should I have double checked the paper contract I signed 8 months before the wedding? Yes, I should have. But yelling at me on the phone telling me I was wrong to assume the bakery would pick up the giant rental cake stand that they had dropped off? So unnecessary. Either offer to pick it up for a fee or simply tell me you aren't able to pick it up. The attitude wasn't needed.Send digital contracts. When rentals are confirmed, send reminders about drop off/pick up. Include a note with the rentals about how to return them. These are simple changes you could add to ensure a smooth and enjoyable event.
The flourless chocolate cake with raspberry curd was fantastic! I ordered a few weeks before for a large event and everything was done as planned plus some. The ordering was easy, they responded quickly and very professional. I will def. use again!
While the cake was beautiful and the redeeming quality was the frosting, the three-tier red velvet wedding cake was dry and not very flavorful. It was very disappointing.

We were absolutely thrilled with the cake I ordered for my husband's birthday. Not only was the cake delicious (we picked lemon cake with Raspberry filling), but the design was amazing! I'll definitely be using them again.
Thanks so much for the fabulous anniversary chocolate cake. You “hit it out of the park” and our guests were very impressed. So delicious and the vegan ganache topping was over and above. Thanks again! ???❤️
Cute, clean bakery. Several options and fair prices compared to what I've seen another bakeries. The girls behind the front counter were incredibly nice. I recommend the Lil devil.
Monarch Bakery has a variety of delicious treats. I enjoy the peanut butter cookies and never miss an opportunity to get one!
Enjoyed stopping in to this bakery on Saturday. We were greeted immediately upon entering and Cecilia was very helpful with our questions about the different treat options. We especially enjoy the little devil and the brownies they offer but they have something for everyone.
