We stopped into Green’s Tavern on January 15, 2026, for a couple of drinks and a late-night snack, and it was exactly what you hope to find in a classic small-town bar.
Green’s has that welcoming, hometown tavern feel with plenty of character and history behind it. Despite being a smaller bar, it offers a lot more than you’d expect. There’s a full bar with a solid drink selection, a food menu with tasty bar favorites, and plenty to do while you’re there. Pool tables, shuffleboard, TVs, and a relaxed atmosphere make it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself. You can tell this place has been a staple in the community for years.
We grabbed some food and I definitely recommend the egg rolls. They were surprisingly good and really hit the spot, especially for a late-night stop.
Side note for a little humor: the bartender told me he was a Marine and didn’t want to make me feel bad since I was Army. Naturally, I asked how long he was in. He said, “Two years,” then medically retired. I was kind enough not to rub it in that I did 13 years and actually got to see the world. All friendly banter, and honestly, it just added to the fun and laid-back vibe of the place.
If you’re passing through Roscommon or looking for a casual bar with good drinks, solid food, plenty of options, and real small-town character, Green’s Tavern is definitely worth a stop.

I had a wonderful time here. The bartender Todd was fantastic, he was friendly & funny. The vibe was great. I played a variety of music and he was jamming out to it all. He was also very attentive. Towards the end of the night, it started getting busy, but he made sure that everyone was still served in a timely manner. Overall I had a great time, and before coming back, I will make sure to call ahead to make sure he is working.

Worst food and service I have have ever experienced burger was raw, pop was flat, waitress wasn't even going to take our order untill I said something. She literally was going to check us out after or first drink. And to top it off price was outrageous and had to dress our own burgers. Will never return to that bar I wouldn't even give it one star.
