The food and drinks are always top tier and the entire staff is friendly and provides great service.
2nd time dining upstairs with after dinner drinks downstairs in the Speakeasy. 2nd experience was just as good as the first. We like dining upstairs (ground level) as it's quieter. Service is very attentive from hostess, wait staff to chef visiting table. Unique flavorful food and fun tasty drinks. Speakeasy has same menu with livelier fun vibe. Great place for a birthday celebration.
The food at Alchemi is fabulous. We had an unfortunate experience. The server forgot to put our order in and even forgot what we had ordered. We sat waiting and completely ignored as the owner and manager roamed the restaurant. However once we grabbed the owner and explained how upset we were, he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Mistakes happen. Just wish the recovery had been a bit more proactive. Hopefully this was an isolated incident. It's a great restaurant so I'd still give it another try.
Our brunch club had brunch here today. There were 16 of us and we had a reservation so there was no wait to be seated. We had two tables of 8. Food was great but service a little slow which I can understand with such a large group but it took 70 minutes to get our food. My Quiche and my friend's Quiche were cold. I will come back with just a friend or two. Voodoo shrimp * grits got rave reviews as did the Witch's Tower pancakes and the Philosopher's Crab & Shrimp Cake Benedict. They also serve a very creative cocktail called The Final Rose. I posted a Pic of it.

The best kept secret in Royal Oak, Michigan!
We decided to try Alchemi this evening, and WOW! What a wonderful experience! It was like being on a cruise ship! We had an appetizer of fromaggi e focaccia (a delicious appetizer of soft ricotta cheese infused with pesto, topped with honeycomb and drizzled with a balsamic vinegar reduction with focaccia bread). We shared the main course on the menu which included crab cakes, a house salad, and cioppino (lobster, scallops, muscles, and clams in a delicious spicy tomato broth) with a crisp crostini to soak up every delicious bite! We finished off our meal with coffee and butternut squash cheesecake. Delicious!
Our server Jade was awesome, the food was amazing, and Chef Johnny even came to our table to see how our experience was! They treated us like celebrities (we are not) 😆
They have brunch here on Sundays from 10:30 to 2 pm. We will definitely be back here as regulars!

Stopped by here before a concert. The venue is beautiful and the service is friendly and prompt. The food and drinks were incredible. If you love smoky cocktails get the smoky old fashioned. It goes quite well with the delicious bacon-wrapped dates. The Madagascar Express was a lovely coffee-based cocktail. The lobster and shrimp pad Thai was wonderful and the brown sugar butternut cheesecake was astonishingly good. There is an inexpensive public parking garage nearby next to Emagine if you can't find street parking. Highly recommend!
Limited but really interesting menu. We liked the atmosphere and food. The lamb chops were outstanding.

It’s all fantastic at Alchemi. What a great experience with a super creative menu. Service was very personable with the head chef/owner always making the rounds and welcoming. He said several items were his creations and they tasted amazing. Signature drinks were well crafted with creative combinations for an interesting flavors.

This was our first time having brunch here. Cheers to Chef Johnny for a fantastic meal and environment. We enjoyed the Voodoo Shrimp and Grits and the Southern Sorcery chicken & waffles. Plus the way they do the mimosas is brilliant. Give them a try. You wont be disappointed.

10/10 we went there Saturday night and we had over the too service by a waitress and other staff. I forgot her name but blonde woman in a black dress. We walked in, our party grew and she made it such a wonderful experience. Food was great and drinks too but the service itself is why id recommend and definitely come back

Our first time experience was outstanding Jade was our server. She was professional and personable. We will definitely be back Highly recommend this restaurant
We stumbled upon this place while visiting from out of town. We were looking for the speakeasy which is a hidden gem in the basement. We wound up in the main bar of Alchemi. Crow our bartender was super nice and welcoming. We ended up having the bacon wrapped dates, which were like candy. The smoked old fashioned was fantastic. We loved the atmosphere here. The Chef and bar manager happened to be at the bar as well and my husband struck up a conversation with them. They gave us the password for Johnnie's speakeasy and we had a fantastic time talking and laughing with the friday night bartenders. This is a must try if you are in Royal Oak.

Im really torn on this review. The restaurant was awesome. The atmosphere was amazing and the servers were great. The drinks are super unique and tasty. The odd combinations of food were very interesting and for the most part great.
Now the bad. I got the Lobster Pad Thai. Im pretty sure the lobster was bad. It had a super strong fishy taste to it and was chewy. I ended up incredibly sick before I even left the place. Ended up sick all night. I knew something was off when I took some bites of the lobster and should have stopped right then. Sucked spending nearly 200 on a date here just to eat bad lobster and throw it all up.
