Brown Iron Brewhouse Royal Oak

For a recent catering order, they collected payment over the phone at the time of the order and then again when we picked up the order because they couldn't find any evidence of the previous payment. Now, more than two weeks later, I have called twice, emailed twice, and disputed the charge with my credit card company. They have told me twice over the phone that they would refund the second payment, but I have yet to see that amount returned to my credit card. Super disappointed and still hoping to get the over $400 payment returned!

Let me start by saying the service was fabulous—our server was attentive and very kind. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. The chicken was extremely dry, the salmon had an overly fishy taste, and even the steak had a funky flavor. For a bill of $169 (nearly $200 with tip) for four people, we expected much better quality.
Do yourself a favor and spend that money elsewhere—you’ll get a much better meal for the price.

We had the welcome reception for my son's wedding at Brown Iron last weekend. The event was amazing thanks to all the wonderful people at Brown Iron. We held our event in the party room in the back - about 80 people attended. This is a great space for a large event. The food was excellent. The beer was fantastic! They have a really good beer selection. Also, the service was top notch. Every person who worked our event was so friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a place to hold your event (or even just go there for lunch or dinner), I highly recommend Brown Iron.

First of all, a huge thanks to our server Aleah. Aleah anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, refilling drinks, checking on dietary preferences, and making the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. Between the top-notch service and the outstanding food, we will 100% be returning. One of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had.

My father and I went in today for the 5 year celebration and our server Tajma was amazing. She knew the beers like the back of her hand and we had a great conversation about local breweries and beers we are huge fans of! Keep up the great work. Also the wings were phenomenal honey sirracha delicious, and the platter had so much amazing stuff we had to take a lot home! We will be back.

I've been many times today was my worst experience.
My friend and U arrived at 11:45 pm for lunch the server took are order.
20 mins later she came back to apologize because she didn't turn in our order so she took my beer off the bill.
She comes back 15mins later and told us it will be out in 4 mins.
25mins later still nothing!
We never got anything!
Very poor service.
I won't be back.
Still being hungry we went to Kruse & Muer on Woodward and what a world of difference.
We were seating right away even though it was packed inside.
The server took both our orders our appetizers came out right away and 10 minutes later our entries came out.
Kruse&Muer is where we will be going for now on.
Great service, Great food.

Service was awful took 3 hours for a salad (part of a large group) but 3 hours for a side salad is ridiculous.

How can management not properly staff their restaurant when they have four large parties and food is coming out slowly. Over half the individuals in our party were done with their food. Please help me understand why we provided the list of food with the names prior to so that the food would be brought out in a timely manner but nope folks are still waiting. This is not good business. I will not patronize this restaurant on my own! Horrible service!!

The service that WAS there was good. However, whoever the manager is there needs some serious help. Bar side was completely full, restaurant side was mostly full and they had one bartender trying to do all drinks and half the food. Food was an hour wait and drinks were about the same. Not a single person even attempted to look like they were helping the bartender with drinks, the manager was back there for 10 seconds poured one beer then left. Food was no better than you would get at an Applebees or similar but wait is much longer. Would not recommend unless staffing is improved. Shame on whoever scheduled that poor bartender. Two hostesses and one bartender is laughable
