Love the beers and service. Why did you remove the soft baked pretzels and the Turkey Rueben? Bring them back, please.

Waitress wasn't attentive despite it being quite empty. Didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked so they were well done and dry.

Also the next day I was spammed with their newsletter and a digital receipt. I never gave them my email address but apparently they use Square space for payment and they must've had it.

Went for the first time in 3 years or so and we’ll definitely be back soon! Erin was our server and she was so friendly, she was giving excellent service to her tables and made sure everyone was taken care of! The highlight was the nachos, so good. Had a few questions about the menu and she answered them and gave great suggestions. We will for sure be back to try more

Whiskey Burger and cheese egg rolls were good. The fries were a bit soggy for my liking.

I am Her Story

I recently called in a takeout order at Brown Iron Brewhouse, and I was thoroughly impressed! I ordered the Honey Dijon Salmon, and it was truly exceptional—perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
The efficiency here is top-notch; my food was ready for pickup in exactly 30 minutes as promised. When I arrived, the hostess greeted me with a huge smile, which set a great tone right away. Even though I was just picking up, I couldn't help but notice the vibe of the restaurant. It’s incredibly spacious, and seeing everyone enjoying their meals made me want to dine in next time!
Pro Tip: If you’re grabbing takeout, just double-check your bag for silverware! They missed mine this time, but the quality of the salmon more than made up for it.
I’ll definitely be back soon—highly recommend!

Good to finally come here since I since I usually end up at the Meijer next door. Be back next week. Ember Veil was really good but wanted American beer. Nice concept here I have been to the Washington Twp one about 8x. Got some coasters and a cool bumper sticker to keep!!

This burger and fries combo was simply delicious! The Canied Apple BBQ sauce was the perfect finishing touch. If you’re in Royal Oak, this place is a must-visit for the best burger experience!

We attended a small wedding and there was over an hour between wedding and when our room became available at Brown Iron. Many attendees decided to head on to Brown Iron and start with drinks and apps. So we all would have been paying as normal customers at that point. A waitress came and took our order which was a Pepsi, a beer and a drink called notorious. We received the Pepsi in a somewhat reasonable time but 30 min later we asked a manager where our beer and drink were and mentioned there were others that had been with us still waiting for their order to be taken. Manager walked away about 30 min later still no drinks but the room is ready for the dinner party. We head into the room and again order the beer and Notorious drink as well as another Pepsi. Again Pepsi delivered and still waiting on the beer and drink. Well, needless to say an hour and a half after arriving at the establishment we received a beer but still no Notorious drink. Then the food was finally served. More than half way through, the buffet was completely empty leaving us waiting another 15 min for our food. The room was available to us at 5pm and food was not served until after 6. Even after all that I can say the food was mediocre at best. Nothing was done to rectify any of the situation not even an apology. We will not return to this establishment ever.

If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to throw $80 directly into a garbage can, allow me to save you the trouble by sharing my Friday night with Brown Iron Brew.

Pig Candy
I’m not sure what “pig candy” is supposed to be, but what arrived felt like someone mixed cinnamon, BBQ chips, and emotional damage into a piece of jerky and dared me to chew it. Spoiler: I couldn’t. My jaw is still in recovery.

Jalapeño Popper Burger
This one came with a fun surprise — it wasn’t cooked. Like, visibly not cooked. And since the menu doesn’t offer meat temps, I sort of just assumed the universal default is well-done. But apparently, BIB operates in a different universe with different food safety laws.

Brown Iron Burger
Ordered a beef patty, received a turkey patty. I love a good plot twist, but not when it’s hiding inside my dinner.

Fries
We didn’t choose between seasoned or plain fries because… we were never given the option. Yet one box came drowned in seasoning as if someone emptied the entire spice shaker into it during a moment of rage, and the other was plain. No explanation. No consistency. Just chaos.

And then — the final dagger — this was via Uber Eats. So yes, I paid $22 per burger + fees for the privilege of throwing nearly untouched food into the trash.

BIB took $80 and all of my hope for the evening. If you’re hungry, eat literally anything else. If you’re curious, just set your money on fire. At least you’ll get warmth out of it.

UPDATE- OMG we got their catering for Thanksgiving. OUTSTANDING. Weve never had such a delicious spread before in our lives. The turkey was so moist, flavorful and picked down to the bone. The Mac n cheese was tik tok worthy and everything else was just great. The whole dinner everyone talked about how good the food was. We’ll be ordering every year from now on. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Our family was 13 adults and 5 kids under 10. We had plenty and just enough left overs to enjoy tomorrow.

One of our favorite regular spots. Great food, service and beer.
They do really fun specials and themed nights too.

Today (Thanksgiving) I went to pick up my turkey dinner meal from another local BBQ restaurant. Due to a technical error, my order wasn't never received and there was no meal. They weren't able to helped me.
Sitting in my car, panicking, as guests were due to arrive at my home in 30 minutes, I remembered that Brown Iron (Royal Oak) also sold full turkey meals. I called, and explained my situation to Emily. She took my name and number and told me that she'd get back to me. Within 5 minutes, Emily called me back. Yes, the chef could accommodate me! I was less than 10 minutes from the restaurant. By the time I arrived at Brown Iron, Jessie and Emily were getting my order ready. Both Emily and Jessie were so kind and helpful. I was pretty stressed out. Their demeanor helped to calm me down. In less than 10 minutes they had me on my way with a delicious turkey, gravy, Mac and cheese, dressing and a salad. Dinner was saved, and on the table only 15 later than what I had planned. THANK YOU Emily and Jessie for saving dinner! Yes, my husband did have a drink for me. I sure hope that you have as delicious of a dinner as my family did, thanks to your amazing customer service and food!

First time going & definitely can say I will return. The vibe was great, the service was amazing. We ordered parm fries, burnt ends, brisket & spare ribs. Fries were great especially with the garlic aioli dip. Although we did ask for more moist brisket if possible, it was pretty much lean- not much flavor at all, a little dry; nothing special. Ribs decent, much better eating them the morning after. Now the burnt ends!!! Baby just AMAZING! The bbq beans definitely had a little kick to them, mashed potatoes were a little cold and dry. Drinks were amazing as well. Quick seating especially for a Saturday. Over e all great time and will be back!

I recently visited the restaurant for a birthday gathering with a large group, and unfortunately the experience fell short in several areas. Our server did not check in on us throughout the meal, so we weren’t able to request what we needed or address any concerns. Because of the lack of service, I wasn’t able to tip as I normally would—I’m always happy to tip well when good service is provided.
Regarding the food, the presentation wasn’t appealing; it looked like it had simply been placed on the tray without much care, especially considering the $44 price. The onion soup had very little flavor, as if something important was missing. I also tried to order two different wines, but both were unavailable, and the mixed drink I received was not prepared well. It seemed the staff were overwhelmed that night, which may have contributed to these issues

Was a great Friday night out!
The beers were great, food was delicious (shoutout to the Cornbread Muffins and Fries Pickles) and Erin was an absolute delight as a server.
