DOC Royal Oak for me is the best option in the Royal Oak area for espresso-based drinks. The loungey seating is better than most places but the ambient music that is always running is a great reason to sit and enjoy a coffee. Excellent selection of tunes with a wide variety ranging from old school funk to modern chill. The roasted coffee selection for purchase rates very well. And the baristas are well-trained in pulling top-tier shots to go along with perfectly frothed milk for your cappuccino or macchiato (my go-to’s)

Wonderful, as always.
This pistachio latte is amazing
Awesome Cafe!!! Went on a Sunday and it was very quiet, peaceful. Good latte options, with various pastries. Friendly service too.

I love the atmosphere. Coffee is great. I have not tried the food yet. They also have a stage for bands, etc. on some nights.

Had a really great experience at this location today. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond during our visit. Also, my iced matcha latte was great. Will definitely be back! :)

Good ambience for the winter evening.
During holiday period, cold weather, historic famous lights - all you need is the coffee, and this place suits well for the mood.
Light live music is a value add, to enhance the holiday spirit.
Food wise - Cakes are good.
Coffee is average - as it’s not hot at all.
It’s pricey though.
Service is decent as well.

Their hot chocolate is amazing, their customer service – not so much.
Honey Cinnamon Latte is my absolute favorite
Dessert Oasis Coffee Shop in Royal Oak, Michigan, is a delightful gem that truly excels in crafting a delicious matcha latte. The matcha was expertly blended, resulting in a smooth and creamy texture that’s perfectly sweetened, making it a standout choice. The inviting atmosphere and friendly staff enhance the experience, making it an ideal spot for relaxation, studying or catching up with friends. With its commitment to quality and community, Dessert Oasis is definitely worth a visit for anyone seeking a top-notch coffee experience!

Dessert Oasis is a really nice coffee shop, but after frequenting here many times, there are some things to be aware of:
- Coffee is strong and great tasting, and their seasonal drinks are lots of fun. They also have lots of flavors you can add; however, hot coffees are often lukewarm, and it takes a much longer time to receive your coffee here than at any of the other local cafes, Atomic Coffee, for example. There is one barista there is who is constantly micromanaging the others, and that is not only off-putting to see as a customer, but the micromanagement delays everyone's orders. It regularly takes me 10 minutes to receive a latte. I understand it gets busy, but even when it is not busy, it can take up to 10 min to get my drink. Which is then lukewarm.
- Atmosphere is nice and an okay place to do work, chat, or study. The seats in the middle are comfy and great for chatting, but if you're doing work, the seating is not that comfortable. There is wifi and there are outlets for charging, which is convenient.
- The food is pretty oily/buttery, and it does take a few minutes to warm up the pastries, but they're worth the wait
