Don’t skip the fries. Seriously. They’re crispy and perfectly seasoned with paprika and some other subtle spices that give them this really good, slightly smoky flavor. They’re not your basic, bland side — they actually have personality. The service was great too, which always makes a difference. It’s set up as an outdoor order window with a handful of high-top tables outside, so it has that fun, street-food energy. You grab your food and just chill outside, which I love when the weather’s nice. It’s casual, quick, and hits the spot every time. Definitely one of those low-key local favorites that just gets it right.

TRY DETROIT EATERY!
the menu is stacked and everything tastes great 😃
The New York Style chicken&lamb is my favorite right now. Add a side of naga sauce no matter what you've ordered! (Super spicy and soooo yummy)

Great food great place. My favorite 😍 is chicken and lamb NY style rice bowl omelet so good. And now I've tried the butter chicken and yes it's spicy but it's good really good. Can't wait to try more. Most definitely coming back.

I have had Detroit eatery a couple of times for carryout. Yesterday I decided to doordash my order & wasn't too pleased. It gave estimated time of 34 mins and I didn't get my food until a little after a hour. It wasn't hot and I had to heat up. Food was good, but not as good when I normally walk in to pick up. The rice was in clumps and I had to break up with my spoon. Also tried the shrimp fried rice for the first time and disappointed they leave the tails on the shrimp. Please take tails off of the shrimp mixed in rice. I'm indecisive if I should try again. 😒🤔

Not authentic and overcharged. The butter chicken was watery and the food was just overall average. No where close to the quality it should be if they want to charge those prices.

My absolute fav item is the Jamaican beef patties. The bowls and burgers are also very good.

Detroit Eatery was an incredible experience from start to finish. We decided to try a variety of dishes so we could really get a feel for the menu, and every single item exceeded our expectations. We ordered four dishes including butter chicken, chicken 65, General Tso’s chicken, and lo mein, and it was honestly hard to pick a favorite because they were all that good.
The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly, and the sauce had the ideal balance of spice and smoothness. The chicken 65 had amazing flavor and a great kick to it. It was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned extremely well. The General Tso’s chicken was another standout with the perfect mix of sweetness, spice, and crunch, and it did not feel overly greasy like it sometimes can at other places. The lo mein tied everything together perfectly. It was flavorful, well seasoned, and cooked just right, making it a great complement to the other dishes.
What really stood out was how fresh everything tasted and how well the flavors came together across different styles of cuisine. You could tell the food was made with care and attention to detail. We ordered a lot of food and still ended up finishing the majority of it because it was just that good.
If you are looking for a place that offers great variety, generous portions, and consistently amazing flavor, Detroit Eatery is the spot. Everything we tried was a hit, and we will definitely be back to try even more of the menu. Highly recommend.
Great place we were really loud and didn’t get kicked out.

It's generous quantity, very much street food like taste, and the place has the same vibe. It's super clean, but just carry out eatery. Has some good selection of middle eastern and Indian dishes, food gets cooked quickly, you can tell they prepare the food after we order. It's open till late which is great, and not very expensive as well. Try the Chicken rice or Beef or Lamb, make it extra spicy if you like spicy, with a Mango Lsssi it's really a good choice.
