This place has a lot of choices. I went with the chicken bowl and asked for a side of sauteed veggies and really liked it. The one thing we will definitely go back for is the seasonal street corn. I can't wait to try it! If you haven't been here yet, it's a must try.

I'm only giving 3 stars because the food was prepared properly .. I guess we can say that DT is better than Taco Bell but that is reaching.. I think I'd choose Taco Bell , Detroit Taco company is not the worst thing ever but nothing I'd ever go out of my way to get. We ordered a enchilada dinner, a burrito and a few different tacos. The enchiladas were very bland and did not have much flavor at all. I had to use 6 packs of mild sauce on them to add flavor. The rice was also very flavorless, I was seriously disappointed. As for the burrito, it was described as " just ok" the tacos were not a hit as they were very greasy and bland. I don't know why everything was mediocre and lacking flavor. I probably would not return to DT for tacos, and I definitely do not recommend wasting your time or money here.

So basically Taco Bell but insanely better. I usually go see a movie with some friends at the Emagine next door and come here after. I have not been let down! The smash wrap is incredible. The quesadillas are dank too. All in all, they give you a ton of delicious food that leaves you with a full enough stomach to induce paralysis.

After a couple of horrible experiences at the Troy location, I decided to return to my roots and give the Royal Oak store one more chance. Big Mistake. Employees seemed more concerned with playing on their phones and taking videos. It took a really long time for them to assemble my bowl and by the time they rang it up and I sat down to eat, my food was cold. Does paying for an overpriced, cold bowl of food sound appealing to you? I miss Zumba :( More affordable, more flavor, better service overall.

Was my first time trying this place. First impression wasn’t good. The employee waiting to take my order wasn’t helpful at all, I actually felt rushed to order. She didn’t explain how things worked or how the order process goes. I asked for two taco combos and the only options I was given were what meat and what side. I asked for salsa on the side and they told me it would be extra which was fine I guess. I paid $25 for two taco combos, salsa on the side, a side of rice and two churros. I didn’t receive the side of salsa I asked for, I didn’t get the type of rice I asked for, and I only got one churro when I asked for two. I didn’t receive a receipt after paying with my card neither. The tacos weren’t worth that visit or the money.

This place is consistently a disappointment. They did well to take over Zumba's tasty stewed chicken recipe, but turned it from a great taco stop to a place I feel is all about scamming you and robbing you blind. I went to pick up containers of stew chicken and grilled chicken. I had everything to make the tacos at home, but I don't want to make the meet. Bad choice coming here. The medium container, which I think is about a pound. Was $13 for each of the chickens. The larger container is $26. When she told me the $26, I had thought it was for both of them. I was wrong it is from each container. I was aghast and disgusted when she told me that it was only for one container. I told her to scratch it and give me the medium size containers. I felt I was still being scammed, but less so than the bigger containers. You would think the large container, they would try to give you a better deal, not this place. There still chicken meat looks the same as long ago, as it was when it was Zumba and since taking it over, the recipe hasn't changed, still decent. It does look like the grilled chicken meat looks rather dark. It doesn't look like the meat is from the breast or tender of the meat or a mix of all of the chicken? Their grilled chicken is fatty and sinewy too, the quality is lacking for sure. The previous Restaurant, Zumba, used to be a staple. Are used to go to it 3 to 4 times a week. The new Detroit taco Company, is all about profit and zero customer service or customer satisfaction. It's all about the Benjamins. This has become a sad institution since it was taken over. I miss Zumba every year since. I went for 6 tacos, 3 grilled and 3 stewed chicken tacos for $20.67. You can better and cheaper at Mexico City or las tiendas or just about any other true authentic Mexican place, no? Don't they knows tacos on corn tortillas should he double wrapped? Our tacos were soggy from the 5 minute drive him and disintegrated such that they could not be loved to be eaten. I ended up with chicken bowls since that's all the corn tortillas were good for.
Last night’s dinner! Amazing. Caught the aroma of someone enjoying a bowl around lunch time from this small-chain and I just had to try it. Will be back soon to try the street corn in a cup

OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I've visited Mexico a couple times & this place is very comparable to the real thing. Not to mention they're customer service it superb!! Thank you for an awesome experience & even better meal. I'll be back.
