Great home made ice cream. My only suggestion would be have the young employees spend a few minutes cleaning!!

Great Ice Cream shop, great flavors and very pleasant nastalgic decor. Went to this shop yesterday and was very, very, very pleased with the selection I picked. Will be making sure I stop back for a bananna split soon as the one I saw served to another customer looks fabulous! Was super surprised to see my favorite dessert, Bananna Pudding, as an ice cream selection especially since I have not ever saw the selection before...it was DELICIOUS!!!

Ray's Ice Cream is always a treat! I heard about it because my father would sometimes swing by there after work -- and bring home some of their peppermint, butter pecan, and/or possibly orange pineapple. It always made for a special occasion! I didn't know it was a place you could get an ice cream cone, until much later -- and it's such a great place to visit. A classic soda fountain, serving Sanders cream puff hot fudge sundaes -- and many other treats. I usually go for an ice cream cone, though. To each their own; deliciously sparkly moments happen there!

12/19/25: Came here to try their ice cream, after seeing it in my local Meijer. Got a 3 scoop sundae(Cinnamon, Praline Pecan, Banana Pudding flavors), and to go, a pint of the Banana Pudding and same for milkshake(I like bananas =0) ). The 3 scoop sundae was solid ice cream; as good as you would expect a local brand to be. The milkshake tasted like it had too much milk added though for sure. Pint was good the next day when I had it.
Only gripes I have is that the place needs cleaning and gloves; seeing dirt, crumbs, and grime in various crevices and corners bothers me. Yeah I get it, ice cream sticks to stuff, but it doesn't look like they do any thorough sort of cleaning. Various cups full of spoons look like they had food stuffs/particles on them, my lid included. Lots of young kids there, so maybe its just something they never pay attention to. I also didn't see any gloves being worn. Maybe that's normal there, but not at other places I've been.
Service was great, no problems whatsoever. Would give it a 5* if the place was cleaner, even considering the prominently-milky taste of my milkshake.

My son and I pass here almost every to and from school and it’s a constant battle stopping here lol!
We first came in the summer time and today we stopped in for a small scoop. The lovely young man Devin was very sweet to every customer and offered my son’s scoop on the house!

Seriously, it’s the best ice cream by far. What’s crazy is the first time I ever had. It was when I was in Florida I picked it up from a Whole Foods.. then after looking at the container, I realize they’re in Royal Oak just a few miles from my house. 👍👍👍
Great vibes, customer service was great from owner and workers. Ice cream DELICIOUS and lots of seating.

ALLERGY ALERT: staff is not conscious of ice cream mixing. I once found a peanut butter cup in my ice cream; I’m highly allergic. I brought it to the staffs attention and they didn’t remove the ice cream that had been contaminated and actually said “oh yeah, I saw that some of the moose tracks fell in there.” Months later I returned and made sure to make the staff aware I’m allergic and I once found a peanut butter cup and asked that he get some from the back and he said he couldn’t. So for anyone who has severe allergies just stay away. They’re not accommodating.

dont get me wrong the ice cream is amzing but seeing how horrible the owner is honestly so sad. he continued ti yell ag his employees infront of costumers! also very didty one suprise visit from the michigan health department and its a wraps. employees also look very tired and overworked
