Apparently the hostess was having a bad day. That, and the ridiculously tiny tables crammed so close together, we might as well have been seated at a communal table. No private conversations at this club. Yes, this place has all of the hallmarks of a nightclub which just happens to serve food. Horrible atmosphere which overshadowed the very good sushi. Our server Melody was pleasant and engaging. Unfortunate that this place is SO UNBEARABLY LOUD!

One of my favorite sushi places in Metro Detroit. Great service, great food. Only complaint is that when it gets busy, the restaurant gets extremely loud.

Every time I visit, I’m impressed by the quality, presentation, and flavor. The rock shrimp appetizer is a must-try — crispy, creamy, and packed with flavor. It’s the perfect way to start the meal.

Their sushi rolls are consistently fresh and creative. I’ve tried a bunch of different rolls and every one has been excellent — especially the spicy tuna, rainbow roll, and their specialty rolls that often include unique sauces and toppings. You can tell they put care into each dish.

The ambiance is modern and stylish but still cozy, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a fun spot for dinner, Ronin never disappoints.

Enjoyed everything except the children in the bar area

Don’t go here after 7 if you’re a party of two as the tables for 2 are staggered between tables for 6-8 so you’ll be squished between 2 most likely loud and drunk parties of people the entire night. Sushi was mid for the price compared to hole in the wall spots are Detroit. Ribs were fantastic though

Not only did I get the wrong sushi roll, I was charged for the wrong one, and then our waitress argued with me and said that it was the one that I ordered. Before that even happened, she made a comment about how fast we finished our food. Rude and unprofessional. Everything is over-priced. Will not be coming back.

Tuesday evening we walked in and put our name on a waiting list. We decided to wait. About 1 hour later we noticed a table empty. We were told we were next. I had 3 people in our party the table that was empty sat empty for over 25 minutes. About that time we were called to sit down. We sat at a table they cleaned 3 minutes prior just 3 ft from were we sat. As we were being seated they sat a groyp of 4 at the table that was open for close to 30 min. Not right. The food was bot worth it 200+ later. The only thing that worked out was our server was amazing. She was attentive and pleasurable to have as our person.

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in the area

Dietary restrictions: One of our group can’t eat diary or eggs and this was an excellent place to accommodate that restriction

The check-in hostess was rude. They refused to combine tables to fit our party size. They rather have empty talbles than accommodate their guest. We ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes to get the right size table than please waiting patrons. The waitress was excellent and understanding. She promptly served us with a smile. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Too bad the front end could have ruined our overall experience.

When I come back home to visit from LA I can only go to a Sushi spot I trust because I’m spoiled in LA. I’m always craving the tuna pizza and crispy rice but the sashimi and rolls options go. Kudos to the bizarro BLT roll that actually slaps. Make your way to Ronin if you’re in the region!
