Met a friend here for lunch. Restaurant feels very upscale on the inside, especially with many business folks in suits during the lunch hour. However, service isn't stuffy, the menu is varied, lots of drink choices, and really reasonable prices. Food was excellent. Parking is right around the corner in the garage. I paid $0.75 to park for just under 2 hours.
I love artichokes so I got the Panko Crusted Chicken Milanese, and I really enjoyed it. The portion is large so I was able to save the leftovers for lunch the next day. When I crave it (and I will), I will be back!
The food at town tavern is palatable, and not typically something I would send back. However, I took a group here (on my suggestion) and, at the first problem the manager refused to try to make things right and convince us to return. It’s a fine place to eat, but it’s more expensive than it is good, and the service detracts as opposed to augments. If you’re committed to royal oak, it’s a decent choice, but take your money downtown where you can get a meal that matches the price tag.
Great food drinks and service! The lobster nachos and lobster mac n cheese are amazing!
Worst service that I have ever experienced. We waited 45 minutes for a table for two when a small table was open basically the entire time... Right when we were about to walk out, the host gestured to us to follow her and threw our menus on the table without saying anything to us. The food and server were very good, but will not be back after that initial experience. The host is the first face of the restaurant and needs to have excellent customer service.
Very nice casual place I ordered the chicken alfredo omelette It was very good The service was awesome well come again
This restaurant is my preferred one. I go to a lot of restaurants but to this one I go the most. The stuff is very receptive and the food they place on your table is so fresh and tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a good dinner here. I recommend this place with pleasure.
We went to happy hour and tried a number of the dishes. The rib bites we're very nice with the tomato dipping sauce, the fish tacos we're not seasoned quit spicey enough, but the garnishment was refreshing and offset the Mayo well. The fish was flawless,; crispy on the exterior while moist and flakey on the inside. The guacamole was very limey and not to my taste, I would prefer more garlic and less lime. The lobster nachos, which are not on the happy hour menu we're very flavorful and worth the $13.
Always have a great meal here and the waitstaff is so friendly! Its so nice to frequent and have the same servers! The lobster nachos and bread are a MUST! The salmon is also a go to favorite.
Had a excellent experience in this spot with my friend. The food comes quick and the customer service is just excellent. Prices are reasonable.

It was fine but if the chef puts chicken in the tacos it would be amazing. Not that it wasn't great already but the chicken in there was even better.
Food was fair, service was good but slow. Prices are a bit high.
Great down town Royal Oak restaurant. Wait staff was awsome very friendly and helpful.
The food was superb, the server professional and attentive, great bar. Only miss was the desserts (three to choose from if you like caramel and dairy). We’ll definitely be back.
Hidden gem in Downtown Royal Oak! Best truffle fries I have ever had. Enchiladas were amazing as well as the short rib grilled cheese! Town Tavern is a modern but old school ambiance. Service was great with both managers checking in on us. Post up at the bar or grab a high top in the main entry for a great meal!
