Always good food and service

I accidentally made the mistake of signing here. I decided to go with one of the must expensive dish which was their bistro steak dinner. If you enjoy a rubbery over cooked and tasteless 8 oz chuck steak you would still not like this. Menu description states it was a blackened grilled steak when in reality it's a pan fried chewy disgusting oily mess. Had to spit out my first bite into my napkin, WORST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD, potato and carrots were alright.

Food and drinks: We did not stay here but stopped for lunch. It is later in the season so it was not busy. The food was very good. Our waitress was very nice if a little abrupt. The was prompt and very hot and tasty. We had the white fish sandwich and a their version of a “filly”. We would recommend both.

We just ate at this place. It was just ok.
We had 2 beers, steak bites and the Arnold.
13.99 for my sandwich
18.99 for steak bites and 7.08 for beer.
The waitress charged us for spinach dip 9.99.
We did not have spinach dip.
I call her attention to it and she insisted that I was wrong and she was right.
And charged my credit card
53.05. I argued with her as long as my husband would let me.
I won't go back. It's only 10 bucks, but it is my 10 bucks.

We had dinner here only, no overnight stay.
Right off the bat out server made it clear she was eager for her shift to end. So eager, she mentioned it at least three times during our dinner. She was pleasant enough, but her desire to leave overshadowed all else.
The food was mediocre at best. Cold, slightly overcooked pasta. A sandwich with barely any meat on it. An appetizer that never appeared. On the plus side, the garlic bread was tasty, and the fries were good.
Everyone has an off day. Maybe today was theirs.

Food and drinks: Mediocre.

Very low quality food and nothing was made how we had asked it to be. 10/10 do not recommend. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and the Pineapple spicy margarita for my main dish, and fried green tomatoes for my app. Both my dishes were extremely disappointing. The burger wasn't cooked how I had asked for it, and had basically no mushrooms or sauce on it.
The drink was meh, but I wouldn't order it again. I don't recommend this place if you want decent food.
I would like to mention that our waitress was really nice, and none of our meal issues was her fault.

Writing this review after service today. We come to the UP often. We always eat in town. We decided to book a fall family trip and came here for dinner tonight. The restaurant was dead and we were excited to have quick service and some yummy food after a long day of travel. Our service and food was so subpar I do not think we will ever return. After ordering, 35 minutes passed and no apps or soup/salad came. I asked what was going on and the waitress admitted she did not submit our order correctly. Ok… thanks for communicating. Mind you, we had 3 kids with us so we ordered an App and their meals first. Side salad came with lettuce that was rotten. Fried pickles tasted ok. Asked for ranch, it never came. Kids food came, looked fine. My burger came and my husbands wrap came, both were cold and not good. His fries were seasoned and mine weren’t. Waitress never came back for refills or asked us how our food was. My husband had to hunt her down to request our bill. I’m really disappointed. We had a decent bill and it was not good at all. I can’t imagine coming here when it is busy and waiting for service like this. Next time we will eat somewhere else in town. Sad to say it but the village inn has gone down hill the past couple of years. We really wanted to give this place a chance tonight after being told to avoid and now I feel dumb for trying.

Village Inn food was delicious! The soup was outstanding, my burger was great, my hubby had the fish and said it was good too. Located in downtown St. Ignace, with parking in the back, makes this a convenient stop after a trip to the island!

Attempted to have dinner and failed. This place is straight out of a Kitchen Nightmares episode. Tried the fried green tomatoes which were frozen Gordon Foods - terrible. Steak bites were chewy and flavorless. The green beans were clearly the microwave in a bag variety which were still over cooked. The asiago steak was likewise chewy and the asiago cheese on top tasted off - it was a bit sour. The fish and chips was disgraceful. The fish were sad little frozen (Gordon Foods again) 1/4" thick fillets and the french fries were clearly previously cooked, had cooled off, and were re-dropped for our order.

The new owner came over and agreed everything was sub-standard then gave us a sob story about staffing issues. He did comp all the food. We went back up the street to Jose's Cantina and got not only a tasty meal but some live entertainment as well.

As former servers, my wife and I offered him some advice - cut down the menu and go fresh. Be really good at five things and earn back a good reputation through quality offerings. Some of the best places we've ever eaten had a one-sided single sheet of paper for their menu.

We were a group of 50 and had preordered the menu items at the restaurant. After we arrived and were served, the food was cold and quality was poor! I didn’t find anyone that had a good meal. Service was great

Only ate at the restaurant. Writing this the day after during a long trip, so my memory might be hazy. Great looking spot! Had an interesting burger with beer cheese on it. Very savory. Very good fries, if a little salty. Would definitely recommend!

We went in for dinner and the place was really busy. It was understandable since it was a Saturday. However, after we sat down, no one came to greet us. After 8-10 min, we alerted staff that we were there and waiting for service. Ten minutes later, no one showed up at our table. We got up and left. We will not go back.
