Outstanding as always! Chef Rick and team continuously outdo themselves with vibrant delicious food year round. The staff is always warm, funny and provide exceptional service. Coast continues to be one of my favorite places to visit!
Derek was a great server. Food was imaginative and tasted great. Good pairings. Overall a great experience.
Every time we visit Saugatuck for a few days we like to hit one more upscale restaurant. With tasting menus, wine pairings and a relatively high price point we decided to try Coast 236. The area is touristy, so our expectations were adjusted accordingly. We arrived 10 minutes early and the hostess took us to our table in the front of the restaurant far away from the dining room. A banquette surrounded by windows. Worst yet, one window was behind the banquette and made it uncomfortable to lean back. We asked for a different table which was accommodated though through extensive effort. We had a drink at the bar while the table was getting ready. I had an old fashioned and they did have large ice cubes to limit watering down the drink (good!!) but the cubes were too big for the glass, so the bartender stirred them to melt them down in the glass watering down the cocktail (Bad!!). We are used to upcharge for top shelf alcohol, but this was the first time we were charged for olives in a martini (ok they were blue cheese olives but come-on). We got our table 20 minutes later. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, we enjoyed him. The food was generally a miss. I had the foie-gras which I couldn't taste as it was overwhelmed by the flavors of the preparation. The toast points it came with tasted stale. to me but I was the only one who commented on that. I had their corn risotto with scallops. The three scallops were delicious and cooked to perfection. I could've used a little less corn and a bit more risotto. They had a good selection of wines with a wide range of price points. Kudos on that. Also, a reasonable selection of digestifs. Unfortunately, they did not have an espresso machine, so only regular coffee was available. For the price point too many misses for us to recommend Coast 236.
Every course of the six course tasting menu was delicious and beautifully presented. Cocktails were also original and interesting- had the mirepoix Martinez and and vesper-inspired original that was great as well. Best restaurant in Saugatuck.
The tasting menu was excellent. Every single course was delicious. We had the best experience here.
We had an amazing dining experience. Evan provided excellent service. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive but not obtrusive. We will be back!
Always a favorite in Saugatuck, the scallop dish was excellent; however, surprisingly, the cioppino was average at best.
We've eaten throughout the world and all the top spots in the US. Coast 236 is without a doubt a top 5 dining experience. The 9 course dinner was SPECTACULAR!!!! I would make the 3 hour drive from Carmel, Indiana just to eat here!
We had the most delicious anniversary dinner. We decided to go ala carte instead of choosing the tasting menu. We both had the Ciopinno and it was amazing. Evan, our server was delightful! 10 out of 10 recommended Catch 236!

It was phenomenal! I did the tasting menu and my husband did the Caesar salad and risotto with scallops. ALL of the food was beyond amazing. The service was fantastic. Dereck was great! We live 3 hours away, but we definitely will be back.

This is such a lovely restaurant. The vibe on the back patio was amazing, as was the food and wine. We had tuna crudo, beef tartar, beef tenderloin, corn risotto with scallops and ciappino. Indulged in port and two desserts at the end, one dark chocolate and one ricotta whip with pistachios. YUM all the way around. Great evening and meal! Very attentive service as well. We will be back again soon.
We always have such a great experience at Coast 236. The staff is wonderful, service is outstanding, and the food is spectacular.
We throughly enjoyed the complete experience. Our waitstaff was excellent and extremely attentive while not being intrusive. The food was above expectations, perfect preparation by a truly skilled chef.
Wow! After a fail in Chicago at a restaurant I won’t mention, Coast 236 truly reminded us of the beauty that exists when you put your heart into your work.
The simple fact that they permit guests at the same table to do the tasting menu while some might choose not to is basically telling you right from the beginning that you are in a business that cares about your visit. Our server assured us that if we chose that route, the courses would be “timed as best as possible”(if ya know, ya know)….as we considered that as an option, we decided to do a family style meal.
Group of 7 so we ordered everything on the menu, and per Patrick’s recommendation, two of some. I considered going through the dishes but I simply can’t …all bangers!!
That being said….the foie w/ plum was crazy good and the scallops came straight from Heaven. The dessert list covers all bases…the obligatory chocolate, the savory, and the sweet. Well done 236!
Thank you Chef, Patrick, FOH, and BOH….that was EXCEPTIONAL!!

Coast 236 was great! High quality food and a decent quantity for the tasting menu. Drinks were also delicious. Definitely a bit pricier, but great for a special occasion. Our server, Jim, was wonderful - very kind and attentive.
