Gigantic portions. Fresh bread was delicious. Cute atmosphere. Quick service. Great value considering how much good food you get.

We were a group of 3 senior ladies, traveling from Chicago to Traverse City, who stopped at Ida Reds for breakfast. They ask you to sign in and then seat you in that order. Phenomenal is the best word to describe our food. I haven’t had French toast as my mom cooked since I was a kid….I’m 73. Don’t like pancakes but I tasted them from my friend….gosh, what I’ve been missing! My other friend had the basted eggs with ham and fresh fried potato slices…enough for 2 people and WONDERFUL! Service was very attentive. Our biggest surprise was when we were presented with our bill. Haven’t eaten this inexpensively in forever. They hit the big 3..great food , great service, and great prices! Be sure to try it!

We arrived at the restaurant at 1. They close at 2. There were many empty tables. Two of us out of a group of four arrived and asked for a table. After a couple of aggressive questions from the hostess we suggested being calmer. At that time she said, obnoxiously, “you can’t come in to my restaurant and tell me how to act!” Naturally I was offended, especially since she was very rude to my brother-in-law. We walked out. Had my wife not been with me the hostess would have experienced quite directly what I thought of her. In sum, the food is ok but you might have to pass the abusive hostess to get it.

We live in Saugatuck and enjoy going for brunch occasionally. We recommend the cornmeal pancakes and blueberry muffins. The omlet/scrambles are fantastic. The winter hours significantly reduce their schedule (open Friday thru Sunday). Because it is so popular, in the summertime, you will have to wait to get in. The location, is right across the street from the water, and in summer there is lots of activity and the town is filled with love and romance. Great place to come with your loved ones. Food here is great. Must go even if you have to wait....it's worth it.

This place is so cute and open year round. I love meeting friends here for brunch. You may wait a bit, but you can go for a nice little walk. The coffee is good enough to drink black. The eggs are always prepared very well.

Don’t go here if you have food allergies. They don’t allow ANY substitutions. I am GF and asked for fruit instead of toast. Nope! The server said “he” won’t allow it (owner/manager I assume?) They don’t have any milk alternatives. They only serve whole milk. They made no effort to be accommodating other than offering potatoes for an extra charge. No thanks. My breakfast scramble was decent and my husband’s food was good, not great. We won’t be returning to this establishment.

Probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Ordered the Greek skillet, the eggs were just perfection, as was the sourdough toast. The wait for a table was long but well worth it.
