I don’t understand the hype. Got several items but they were just okay, especially for the price. I was really hoping for awesome but nothing out of the ordinary for such a high price. Got 2 donuts, 2 cinnamon rolls and one salted caramel pastry for $37.

The whipped cream was just butter with absolutely no flavor, I dont know if the whipped cream is bad or if I got an off batch but it was gross. The brownie I ordered is quite bland and not cooked evenly. The cupcakes are not bad but overall I was disappointed with the foods, but the service and atmosphere were pretty nice.

How adorable is Retro Bakery?! Friendly service with many items to choose from. So far the vanilla bean scone is my favorite, but I have a lot more to try. This is a must stop when in town!

I had the pumpkin cake and molasses cookie. The pumpkin cake was good and moist. The molasses cookie was bland. I asked if the cookie was made with butter and was told yes. But when looking at the packaging after leaving, it was not butter but shortening. Items are a bit pricey. All items are individually packaged in the case and to me that must add a considerable amount to the price.

Adorable shop with a great vibe. Everything was displayed beautifully, even the papers on the muffins were cute! The gentleman that helps us was super friendly. The muffins we got were delicious and we will be back every time we visit the area!

Eric was also so nice and accommodating when we were running a few minutes late to pick it up! Great experience all around :)

Retro Bakery is an absolute gem! Eric made a birthday/bachelorette carrot cake for my sister, and it was truly the highlight of the party. The cake was beautiful, moist, and hands-down one of the best carrot cakes we’ve ever had—everyone was in awe. We also ordered cookies (chocolate chip and spicy Mexican chocolate), and every single girl at the party was grabbing extras to take home. Even a week and a half later, the cookies are still moist and flavorful.
Eric clearly puts so much care into his desserts, and it shows. Retro Bakery has officially become a must-stop for me—I’ll be picking up treats every time I’m in Saugatuck!
