Gorgeous! Delicious food and cocktails, professionally curated menu and ingredients. Great staff all around. Fresh and interior design.

The thing I would do differently is ask to have the courses spread out a bit more, but I forgot. The only other thing I'd do differently is stay in the area longer to explore the menu! I look forward to our next visit!

Susan’s is challenging to write a review about because the descriptions of the service, the food, and the excellent environment are going to read as inflated. They aren’t. We have had a dozen lovely meals here- always with excellent service, great drinks, and delightful food. Last night, while inhaling the ribs and Japanese Sweet Potato, a polished older woman came up to the table and told me she got the ribs, too. Both of us looking at each other and smiling in recognition. Some version of that interaction has happened whenever we have been there. Everyone happy to be there. Tables making friends. Servers going above and beyond. Exclamations about what you are eating. Cecelia runs a beautiful and tight ship. It is a delight to come here.

I had the baked sweet potato, it was over the top delicious!, plus the waiter asked my sister and I if we had any allergies, which we do, it just made our meals that more enjoyable!

My wife and I were staying in Union Pier with typical trips to New Buffalo. We had tried the very busy Stray Dog a few times and we're ready for a date night restaurant. Susans Sawyer was perfect. I thought I should try the Halibut, BUT really wanted the fried chicken sandwich for the wonderful comfort food that it is. It didn't disappoint. Superb. My wife tried the cavatelli with polpetta (Italian for meatball). It satisfied her comfort food taste and despite there only being 3 meatballs she couldn't finish the cheese and cream based dish (but she wanted to!) Yes, the prices are high but it was a date night.

Bright light room with an open kitchen. The menu and wine list are both limited, but really well thought out. Service was great and Chef Mike was always checking on how things were going.

The salad, ribs and crab dip were all great.

This restaurant is an absolute gem, you will love sitting at the bar for happy hour between 5pm and 6pm. The food and drink specials are well priced and generous. The fried chicken sandwich and cheese fries are a MUST at happy hour. Also, I highly recommend taking a date to this restaurant for dinner. The food is amazing and the service is exceptional. I can't say enough good things about the staff and atmosphere. Make sure to make a reservation if you are visiting the area on vacation, you will not be disappointed!

Parking: Plenty of FREE parking available on the street and in the adjacent lot.

Atmosphere was great!!! Cozy intimate and quaint. While the house salads were fresh and crisp, the portions were quite small. Amish Chicken was the best dish, flavorful and meaty but the potato side was meager, only four small pieces. The risotto was flavorless and an extremely small portion, basically a cup of risotto. The Japanese Sweet Potato was delicious but very pricey for what it was. Beware of small portions with high prices!

Susan's restaurant in Sawyer, Michigan, is a culinary gem that left me thoroughly impressed. The warm ambiance, attentive service, and, most importantly, the exquisite cuisine, make it a standout dining experience. The menu boasts a delightful array of dishes, each prepared with evident skill and fresh, high-quality ingredients. From the first bite to the last, the flavors danced on my palate, creating a memorable gastronomic journey.
