This restaurant is an absolute gem, you will love sitting at the bar for happy hour between 5pm and 6pm. The food and drink specials are well priced and generous. The fried chicken sandwich and cheese fries are a MUST at happy hour. Also, I highly recommend taking a date to this restaurant for dinner. The food is amazing and the service is exceptional. I can't say enough good things about the staff and atmosphere. Make sure to make a reservation if you are visiting the area on vacation, you will not be disappointed!Parking: Plenty of FREE parking available on the street and in the adjacent lot.
Atmosphere was great!!! Cozy intimate and quaint. While the house salads were fresh and crisp, the portions were quite small. Amish Chicken was the best dish, flavorful and meaty but the potato side was meager, only four small pieces. The risotto was flavorless and an extremely small portion, basically a cup of risotto. The Japanese Sweet Potato was delicious but very pricey for what it was. Beware of small portions with high prices!

The decor and service were outstanding. I was not a fan of the food but two people I dined with are and eat at Susan's often. I believe it is very good food but just not my taste. Take a look at the menu; if you see items that appeal to you, I think you will be very pleased.

We really enjoyed our visit to Susan's. Such a great addition to this beautiful area of SW Michigan, and the town of Sawyer. Our server, Jayden, made some great suggestions for us despite my wife's razzing humor. The busy chef was friendly and appreciated our feedback. The flavor of the different dishes we had really stood out. For instance, the Japanese sweet potato is roasted just right, and gets put through the roof with the addition of honey and butter! The fish prep on our visit was halibut, and beautifully prepared, really flavorful! The desert of pistachio sponge cake with smoked strawberries was amazing. We enjoyed an after dinner wine on their beautiful patio. Cannot wait to return on our next visit!

We’ve enjoyed multiple dinners at Susan’s. Somehow they seem to always find room for us on their beautiful outdoor patio. Every dish we’ve enjoyed has been thoughtfully prepared & seasoned. A “simple” MIXED GREENS salad arrives perfectly dressed w/ a light lemon vinaigrette and each leaf of the boston bibb lettuce attentively seasoned w/ S&P. Halibut, Burger, Pork Shank, Fried Chicken Sand… every morsel delectable. Eclectic wine list. Very clear that the staff enjoys working with each other. Always a special experience. Food was fantastic and unique. It came out very timely. Outdoor seating was nice and relaxing, minus the uncomfortable chairs. Our server was very knowledgeable, but never came to check on us after the kitchen delivered our food. We will recommend to others.
